Re: UK Lawmakers Propose Mandatory On-Device Surveillance and VPN Age Verification

All of this is “backed up” by the anti-social-media rhetoric that has been going on for ten years, if not longer, portraying them as the cause of all the problems affecting young people.

I can tell that child protection is only the envelope for controlling people, but as someone who experienced ...

Re: Age of Deception

Which is safer, a minor seeking it from an adult that can ensure it's done in a safe manner (condoms, not causing physical harm, etc.) or two minors who have no knowledge of the consequences of sex (STDs, pregnancy, etc.)?

Minors should receive good education about those topics, especially when ...

Re: What can a bizarre video teach us about combating MAP hate?

Only 1 of the three participants was open-minded, but there was a consensus among the youtube comments that she should have talked alone with the mouse. Meaning the others came off as too close-minded to the public.

Re: As a MAP, would you help a stranger?

Yes, I would. Your anger towards others for not understanding MAPs is a bit extreme. Don't be so cruel. Sorry for the bluntness, but this can't be healthy for you.

Obviously, this is extreme. The endangered person could be a MAP or someone supportive of MAPs.

If that even enters into the ...

A related experience

I don't know how common this is, but I have at times gotten physically aroused, in an uncomfortable way, when an emotionally sensitive topic arose with other (adult) person. In this moment of emotional intimacy, a caring response would have been more appropriate than a sexual response, but that's ...

Re: Institutionalised relationships

My first reaction is that this is unnecessary and unworkable, but I think that's because I'm looking at this in a narrow way, from my own world, but if I pan out then it starts to make more sense.

I'm a western Christian woman and my view is that relationships should be between people, the only ...

Thank you for the link. In connection to Cantor's findings, what this would mean is that difference in white matter is not innate, right? It evolves depending on the environment.

Re: Cross-wiring theory

I think this is one of the relevant studies.

Again, after just reading the article, there are major red flags and one of them is the correlations he made. Honestly, I don't even know why you take this man seriously. I don't know man, sounds kind of off.

I have the same kind of feeling towards ...

it's triggering the sexual instincts instead of triggering the nurturing instincts

Using the word "instead" seems too drastic. I could buy the idea that there is a cross-wiring to some extent, but I feel a lot of nurturing feelings as well. Actually, sometimes the sexual attraction ...

Cross-wiring theory

How do you feel about the following theory by James Cantor?

Cantor found that the brains of the paedophiles he studied were wired differently to non-paedophiles - something he describes as effectively a "cross-wiring" of the brain. "It's as if, in these people, when they perceive a child, it's ...
