Re: Supporting Trans Youth is Good. Using Technology to Produce Sexual Images of Children is Bad

Even when it comes to gender dysphoria being misdiagnosed, the person has to figure out their gender for themselves. Unlike high cholesterol that could be due to any number of causes, gender identity is ultimately self-defined, and the 'concerns' on the right often extend to fully reversible ...

Re: Supporting Trans Youth is Good. Using Technology to Produce Sexual Images of Children is Bad

Maybe I’m just being cynical, but I honestly think people are going after Grok because it’s Musk’s, not because it does anything that a lot of other models—or even Photoshop—can’t already do.

And how did we go from “been well documented” for something that’s only been around for a few years to ...

Re: Dear Annie: My dad wants me to sugar-coat his friend’s child sexual abuse conviction

I love that the first line of the response is "Your dad has put you in a tough spot". She hasn't been put in any spot. The dad is making his own decision on who he wants to associate with, and is clearly steadfast in his decision seeing as he's been friends with him for 20 years.

It always ...

Re: UMY Psychologist Reveals Child Grooming Patterns and the Long-Term Impact of Trauma on Victims

This kind of argument reminds me of a story a queer woman shared on social media once about how her religious school taught that lesbian relationships were supposedly dangerous precisely because they could be so full of love and care that their 'victims' might never realize something was wrong ...

Re: Fee on convicted child sex offenders proposed

Ah yes, because sex offenders who struggle to get jobs more than the average ex-convict definitely have enough money to fund these programs. This is just a way of trying to push homeless MAPs off a cliff into death and those at the poverty line into homelessness, and making them pay for the state's ...

Re: Are chronophilias a continuum or discrete?

It largely depends on the person. Just like with sex and gender, some people are more interested in people's identity and others are attracted based on presentation and physical features, regardless of the age, gender, or past the person has.

Re: UK "TV Star" scrubbed herself with bleach and steel wool after learning partner was "WORST PAEDO"!

As much as I hate her anti-pedo hate ,this really screams of unmanaged OCD and I feel some sympathy for her. I really hope the kids don't get hurt in any way, and it's disgusting how the story frames her partner as the cause of all this pain

Re: Mu Reviews: Real Journalism by Karl Andersson

It's always interesting to see when someone's identity is seen as a sign that they're 'biased' on the subject they're discussing and when it's seen as a sign that they're being objective and unbiased. By that same token, any non-MAP writing on AMSC is biased in the opposite direction by their social ...

Re: How is minor-attraction perceived where you live?

The people who are most conservative and bigoted see it as a temptation that could convert anyone, while the few progressive people where I am see it as a sign of deep sadistic and abusive tendencies that are practically inborn or natural, though some in favor of prison reform believe MAPs can ...
