Hypothetical time. If an 18 year old man where to date a 50 year old with a hormonal disorder that made them appear as a prepubscent 7 year old child, would they 18 year old get called a pedo or get called a victim?

I also think the man would be labeled the abuser. Despite the rhetoric about brain development and consent, what antis really hate is the idea of being attracted to children as if it was a sin. Otherwise they would have no problem with people jacking off to drawings, where brain and consent shouldn't matter. There is also the fact that males are more likely to be labeled abusers in general.

Yeah. It's waaaaaay too easy to label a man as a predator in this day in age. People have literal manhunts over dudes that have preferences that aren't within normal age ranges or already state-sanctioned such as in the case of LGBT.

I don't think that he would be called an abuser but people would scrutinize his interest in her. I've heard a few young-looking women say that they had to 'screen for pedophiles' (i.e. the men who dated them, they had to make sure that it wasn't because they looked so young which I don't understand because your physical appearance has to play a role in someone's physical attraction to you. It's the same thing when people make an issue out of racial 'fetishes' but they're fine with preferring certain body types or hair colors or features that aren't explicitly associated with race. I can recall a porn star saying that she never wanted to dehumanize black partners by talking about their 'big black cock' so she just talked about their 'big cock' instead, color and size are both physical features so why is liking one fine but not the other? It's something else if we're talking about dating the 'idea' of a person based on group stereotypes or reducing them to their ethnic identity). I can vaguely remember a woman with some condition where she never went through puberty or something like that (maybe she was just a dwarf) saying something similar (she didn't really look like a little girl outside of height, though. I completely forgot about the 'victim' part (I wasn't thinking about the fact that people would normally consider an 18-year-old as being victimized by a 50-year-old in having some kind of a sexual or romantic relationship with them). I think that some people would spin that narrative in the interest of consistency but the youthful appearance of the 50-year-old will change things for many others.

It always struck me as odd that in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel was older than Buffy's grandparents yet no one really had a serious issue with the age gap because he looked as though he was in his late twenties (he was sired at 26, I think). It really makes a difference, what you look like (although it's worth noting, when it comes to Buffy, that even a 26-year-old with a 15-year-old is pretty taboo and it didn't seem to be a huge deal in the show when it came out in 1997, I think back then even that was considered a somewhat serious transgression though). If Giles or one of his similarly aged friends were to hit on Buffy or Willow that would probably be considered the creepiest most predatory thing in the world, because he/they looked middle aged. Angel is 270-years-old (if the '25 is when the prefrontal cortex develops' myth were true you could claim that he had the mind of an adolescent if he had been sired at 24 or earlier but he was sired when he was an adult by pretty much all conventional standards) when he meets a 15-year-old Buffy, if I'm not mistaken, and no one really cared because he was a handsome man who looked as though he were in his twenties (my intuition tells me that even a relatively conventionally attractive man who still looked as though he was middle-aged might have some issue with dating younger women, in terms of stigma and judgment). I am truly convinced that a lot of people don't really mind if a 40-year-old who looks as though he's in his late 20s dates women in their late 20s because of what he physically looks like, I am absolutely convinced that what he looks like would make it less creepy for SOME people.

Your physical appearance determines so much of how other people perceive and treat you, it's really astonishing and quite brutal.
