If your brain stops developing at 25, that means that even at 40, he is developmentally still only 25, so since she is developmentally 23, they are developmentally only 2 years apart, so its perfectly acceptable

“Oh he cant date her, hes 40 and shes 23, she hasn’t hit 25 which is when your brain stops developing.”

Let’s remember that a man’s body stops developing around the age of 21. It’s dangerous to do physical exercise before that because the body isn’t fully developed yet, and there’s a risk of causing irreparable damage.
Joking aside, for me, talking about the developing brain is exactly the same thing. Ideally, I would think that certain things should almost necessarily be done while it’s still developing, because once it stops developing, it’s too late. So, it’s important to learn to speak before brain development is complete, to learn to read before the brain finishes developing, and so on...
At least, that should be the natural reaction to such information, instinctively.
But in reality, that’s nonsense, and the brain continues to adapt even after development ends. If I’m not mistaken, it starts working on the components already built, making new connections and I don’t remember what else.

Yeah it’s a complete myth too. Your brain is always developing. If this were true, the AOC would be 25, voting and alcohol would be 25.

This argument is just used by people to tell older men that they shouldn't date younger women.G@yWad69 wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 4:25 am “Oh he cant date her, hes 40 and shes 23, she hasn’t hit 25 which is when your brain stops developing.”

Age is not a good benchmark of experience. But it is used to justify who should date who in today's society.
A person could be under or overdeveloped compared to his or her peers. To label someone by their age is the worst way to generalize.
Am I not simply a human being just like you? But out of your norm.
