Vermont State Police say they are trying to learn more about a possible event in Washington County for “minor-attracted persons.”
Information has been circulating on social media about a possible event happening this weekend in support of “minor-attracted persons.” Residents and parents have expressed concern about such an event occurring near a school in Washington County. A website advertising the “camp” has since come down. It was unclear as of Tuesday evening if the event was legitimate or a possible online hoax.
A campground in Marshfield has been identified as the possible location, though the owner has stated on social media no such event was to take place there this weekend.
Adam Silverman, public information officer for the Vermont State Police, wrote in an email Tuesday evening that the agency is aware of the online reports.
“VSP is unable to monitor events or groups that engage in activities that courts have ruled are protected by the First Amendment regardless of the views those groups express. If we receive reports of criminal conduct, we would be able to open an investigation. That said, since being made aware of this potential event, VSP has been working to understand what this event might entail and how best to manage any security-related and safety-related concerns for those involved and everyone in the vicinity,” Silverman wrote.
The event was expected to be discussed at the Marshfield Select Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday night.

Given the police's grounded response I'd call this a win.
Being detected by antis but having police respond in our favor is arguably even better than not being noticed by antis. I hope the camp is still going ahead.

This is ridiculous, I mean, almost hilarious. A clear demonstration of the distorted view about MAPs.
Yeah, they're expecting 20 MAPs to climb the fence into the school and start grabbing kids and dragging them back into the woods or something?
Obviously MAPs are more worried about their own safety and would stay well clear of the school for fear that a trigger happy teacher or security guard sees them as suspicious and causes a drama.

They're not insane. They're victims of hysterical messaging about MAPs.
Nah, they don't get off that easily. Everyone is complicit in this. If we say they are just victims of messaging then who is the perpetrator? Boomer parents that warned their kids about "stranger danger" provided the messaging that parents today are providing their own kids.
If a parent can say to me "I wouldn't mind a BL babysit my 5 year old daughter." I can respect them. Otherwise they are lacking in even the most basic of logic skills and deserve criticism.

Perhaps we could prepare a statement - a simple condemnation of the condemners, pointing out the violent language online that led to the cancellation of the event.
We could also point to the positives; i.e. that events like this might portray MAPs as victims, and in need of protection by law enforcement.
This seriously sucks, Antis always try to screw everything on us, hopefully we will always be stronger than them.
