I'm going to discontinue news aggregation

Post by Jim Burton »

Aggregating news and posting it here was useful, and led to various spin-off articles, but it was a 6 hour job 3 times a week. And that's before the forum posts.

If anyone wants to help with the aggregation service, please let me know, and it might be possible to save it. I had pretty much perfected the edition format, and this was by far the most efficient way of doing things, but takes up too much of my time for the benefit it brings.

Longer term, we must really look at making these kind of tasks automated.

I'll make an announcement on the main blog, as this is where I posted the updates.

I'll start testing a fully-automated news aggregation service, but dread the inability of AI to determine relevancy of information. Someone recommended GPT agent - any more suggestions?

I for one appreciate your efforts in this regard. I'd offer to help, but I really can't keep up with such a thing myself.

If relevance is the issue, it’s less about the AI system and more about the prompt you use for filtering the news.
When society judges without understanding, it silences hearts that yearn for connection.
