The Fate of All Fools

Post by Black Mirror »

☆.•°What becomes will too be unmade, and all the while shit stays the same. Clowns and rulers alike frolic in fields of bone and ash; the sun rises from beyond the horizon to applaud them. The world is a viral playground for death and life; would you care to join them? No? Well, that's too bad because Mommy and Daddy said yes for you, so revel in the madness and smile, for you are blessed. There is no god here; there is no joy; there is only the delusion that everything is okay. Let silence be your companion, for no symphony can produce a sound that resonates with the soul much like the dying screams of these creatures we call our friends. There is no light here; there is no warmth; there is only a thought cradled by an all-encompassing oblivion.°•.★

As a fool myself, of sortz, i take issue with your words! (heh!)

i think your sort of reasoning is true for those who are surrounded by cities, concrete, and no real wilderness. i think this is true for those who are surrounded, also, only by technology and consuming media hype and "the spectacle". (i.e. see Guy DeBord's "Society of the Spectacle" for insights)

How to respond? i say, with some Raoul Vaneigem ("The Revolution of Everyday Life") and escaping city norms for the woodz!

Here, greenhorns may find value in (going cautiously to)the totally free international and national "Rainbow Gatherings" (i.e. www.welcomehome.org). Where you have to shit in a latrine (no toilets, kids!) and get your food, all free, in a broad spectrum of free-camps to choose from (religious fundamentalist to anarchist and all in between). And experience, if you're lucky, thousands of people OMing together on July 4th (the main gathering is usually a week long, but you can go early or stay late to help clean up!)!

To EXPERIENCE people working together IN THE WOODZ, far from police (tho they seem to regularly patrol thru) and GETTING ALONG for the most part, is a HUGE REVELATION for people UNUSED to ANY SUCH THING!

From there, if you have "the balls", go into the REAL UNKNOWN --a roadless place is best! Wilderness! Unknowns to the max! Darkness so dark you can't see your hand in front of your face!! THIS is where one begins testing oneself in ways beyond "Safe" corrals (which can bring depth insights to difficulties!)! You get out in the woodz, smoke some herb, and let your armor fall away...and see what kind of wild critters you've inadverdantly summoned! (Don't yell at or get aggressive towards skunks, kids!)

Don't jump in "full bore" right off, tho. You want to go in increments.

Same with any other approach, i suppose.

(Yes, the Rainbow Gatherings, including likely international ones, are "chock full" of 'anti' hysteria, and yet, most of you are not as OUT as me, so do not have to worry about their shit! So why not explore such places, if you're SO cynical?)

To conclude, i DON'T AGREE that humanity has ALWAYS been so cruel. What "we" tend to see (in forming our 'opinions' while being coercively skooled) are heavily-biased histories befitting "the interests" of Empire. Often Eurocentric and feudally-stuck, and for very good reasons (which are not "rational" to us --unless we've analyzed such phenomenae deeply-- but quite "rational" to those whom help maintain Empire).

Humanity has been around at least 200,000 years! And in the old website (now on archive), www.peacefulsocieties.org we can read about truths gone heavily suppressed and/or mis-characterized by patriarchally-challenged scientists, mostly! Truths which shed MUCH LIGHT on nonviolent, egalitarian societies headed by feminist thought that INCLUDES men as equals with women (and, likely, teenagers).

The most cynical interpretations, i see, usually stem from a system that WANTS its masses to Give Up and Conform, without "too many" uncomfortably-challenging questions!

It's easy to get cynical in the context of how much insanity seems to run the day; and yet to see young people, not yet entrapped by such a cynicism, not yet ideologically surrounded and intimidated into silence, is to see how humanity ACTUALLY IS in each generation BEFORE it is Reduced and Fully Tooled (and i don't at all agree with the popularized judgements against "human nature"
as paraded regularly by the usual interpretations of William Golding's "The Lord of the Flies"!)
"...if we are afraid, we are almost always afraid of something, and the more clearly we can see what it is we are afraid of, the more likely we are to be able to cope with that fear."--John Holt in FREEDOM AND BEYOND p.32
