Dealing with the UK's terrifying new border scanning regime

Post by BLueRibbon »

It feels like an eternity since I wrote about the Crime and Policing Bill for Mu. In that article, I warned of many new threats on the horizon for those who must live in - or interact with - the UK. That bill has now passed and will soon come into force. In this article, I will focus on just one of the horrifying new proposals, as I did with the ban on 'looks young' porn. Today, we're going to take a look at mandatory device scanning at the UK border.

The one thing I'll say is that such powers do already exist in some countries. In a previous job, we had a policy that we had to take either clean new computers overseas or purchase machines once there since it was always assumed that a machine could be scanned which could compromise company secrets. Any data needed when overseas would be accessible over a secure VPN from company servers.

I think learning from that, citizens have to adopt a similar posture. Only take a clean installed OS and make materials available in secure encrypted forms.
Keep every stone they throw at you. You've got castles to build.

Just another way toxic types are trying to ban porn and make unnecessary arrests. They don't people to have any other source of dopamine hits except for what they do. Pretty much anything in anime could be deemed as "young", and soon it will reach to adult characters as well. Hell, there are even people freaking out over Lion King pron because of Simba and Nala being young, cub porn! Holy shit. I'm becoming reluctant to call these types 'people' at this point!!!

I agree with you about full disk encryption, it ought to be the default for any individual with moderate chances of facing police interference!
