I don't know if I can be classified as a pedophile because it's not about sex for me. It's about romance when it comes to little nymphets.

Sexually, I can get turned on by little girls who are starting their puberty (I guess that counts as hebephilia), by young girls who just ended their puberty (I guess that counts as ephebophilia) and by young adult women.

I think that sexual attraction, even if it may be taboo, it's just natural.

My issue comes with romantic interest. I'm almost exclusively romantically attracted to prepubescent girls. I feel like the love of a child is far more pure and meaningful than the love of any teenager or adult. Every time I see a beautiful little girl (approximately from the age of 5 to the age of 11) I get intense butterflies in my stomach and sometimes, depending of the little nymphet I can be obsessively thinking about her for days, even if we just made eye contact for a few seconds in the street. I just can't control it. I can be hanging out with a +18 girl while I secretly daydream about loving, hugging and kissing a little girl, being both her lover and father figure. But I just can't get hard if they're prepubescent, it's just romantic.

Having said so, I identify as a MAP but I'm not sure if pedophile is the word for me as there's no consistent sexual attraction to prepubescent children involved.

Well, pedophile literally means child lover, so yes. Romantic attractions count as pedophilia because it goes beyond the typical platonic bond.

Look, you can identify as what you want. I prefer terms like 'MAP' and 'child-lover,' because they are terms that come from our community. The term 'paedophile' comes from psychiatry, criminology, and from the mainstream media, and the term is highly stigmatised. So if you are wondering if 'normies' would consider you a 'paedophile?' They call just about anyone the 'P-word' if you like someone under 18. I personally reject their terminology. It's up to you whether you want to identify with the terminology of the enemy or not.
