Andrea Piscina, immediate trial for the former radio host accused of pedophilia

An immediate trial has been ordered – which skips the preliminary hearing – for former radio host Andrea Piscina, arrested last June 13 for producing child pornography and sexual violence against minors. According to the investigation, the 25-year-old groomed kids via social media using fake profiles and names, such as Alessia, Anna and Sara.

The decision was made by investigating judge Tiziana Landoni, accepting the request of Milan prosecutor Giovanni Tarzia, who coordinated the investigations of the Local Police's specialized unit on computer crimes. More than a thousand photos on the cell phone – The investigation was triggered by a complaint from the mother of a boy who attended the sports club where the accused was a coach.

More than a thousand images depicting children between the ages of 9 and 14 were then found on Piscina's phone. Only in the first part of the investigation were two victims identified, who were later joined by two other kids, also lured within the sports club. For the charges of the precautionary measure, the prosecutor requested the so-called ‘immediate precautionary’, while for the subsequent two charges (which concern the two victims discovered subsequently), the Prosecutor’s Office requested the immediate ‘ordinary’ procedure. Piscina is currently in prison.

Who is Piscina? – After the decision of the investigating judge, the defense has 15 days to present the (very probable) request for an abbreviated procedure for a closed-door trial in front of the preliminary hearing judge with a one-third reduction in the sentence. Piscina, brother of the Milanese city councilor Samuel Piscina (of the Lega Nord, completely unrelated to the investigation), hosted a program on Rtl 102.5. Upon news of the arrest, the broadcaster immediately suspended the host, “as a precautionary measure”.
