What do you have in mind? A child can't get pregnant (so sex isn't as big of a commitment), adults have sex without making marriage commitments (why shouldn't minors be able to do the same?), some people don't feel shame about sex (we shouldn't take for granted that either a minor or their community will feel shame about sex or stigmatizes it), and hook up culture is still pretty common amongst gay men (even if casual sex in heterosexual contexts is less common than it was, we know casual sex is possible). The exclusive MAP is in a perfect situation for casual sex without broader social commitments since a child ages out of their range of attraction. If we're talking about jealousy, that already exists amongst minors (possessiveness of friends). It seems like making an issue where there doesn't need to be one.Learning to undeny wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 10:06 pm I think no one has still pointed out the social repercusions of sex. A child cannot give informed consent to these because they don't know the complex consequences of the apparently inocuous act. For example, the expectation that children should have low sex drive, or the concept of a "virgin", or "innocence", or "shame".
I know, each of these concepts individually appears to be a hassle. But the idea that sex is just sex is just wrong. In every single society (correct me if there are exceptions), sex has a complex social meaning attached to it: marriage, relationships, rituals, power... We would all want a free society where sex is just sex, but it's simply in our heads. Sex will always have complex social consequences.
Why do you tell yourself that kids can consent?

Yes, I had in mind that these forms of sex are linked to subcultures and so they have social implications. But not so complex and hard to understand, and not so much linked to specific acts.PorcelainLark wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 4:37 am What do you have in mind? I still wonder if there is an example of a culture where sex has no other implications, by default.
Spoiler!

Re: Why do you tell yourself that kids can consent?
I remember when I was a kid in grade 1, having sexual feelings for a girl in my class. She was the Principal's daughter. She was beautiful. She had long straight blonde hair, and chest as flat as a board. I remember her as if it were yesterday, even her name. I still think of her from time to time, and kick myself to this day, that I was too weak of character at that time in my life to tell her how I felt about her. I was 6 years old. Believe me, kids know what sex is, and how the idea of it makes them feel, because I felt it. I used to masturbate to visions of her. Please don't make assumptions about the feelings kids have, or don't have, or what they know about, or don't know about. You be you, but don't assume that everyone is like you. We're not. Like my account name states, I've been a MAP all my life, and I'm sure there are AAM's in the same boat.thecurious wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 9:51 pm Hello, I am here since some time now, reading only. I am not a Map nore am I an anti and I wouldn't call myself an Allie either.
I see yall talking about "kids can consent". I think that's wrong. How could a kid consent to sex when they don't even know what it is yet? If they don't even know what to expect, how is it consent? If so many people tell they were traumatized because of being abused as a child, it's that it does indeed hurts the kids. A child is innocent and puts its trust in adults, cause they know more stuff etc, they will let you do and trust you easily, so you know you do have an advantage on them. I think you are lying to yourself, building this world where it is okay, with fake arguments, cause you are terrified of telling yourself you're hurting children. It's even way worse when you say you like kids that can't even talk and don't have a big logic. Some kids you say you are attracted to, can't even talk, and that's just straight up direct using. Like an object.
Now, I feel sorry you are so scared for your life, and die in many countries and all those risks cause indeed you cannot chose what you are attracted to. But you can choose not to act on it, and not to give anyone else the idea that it is okay to do so. You have to understand that children don't need that, and if you do this it's mainly for your own pleasure. You have to understand that this hurts children way more than it gives them any "experience" they will get later anyway when they will be ready.
I think that yes, it's not normal that you're so scared to just talk about it, that you are so bullied and can't share a secret. Cause you should be able to say you have these thoughts, so you can get help and understand why you have those and how you can not have them anymore. And there ARE ways to help you without putting you in danger. You can see a psychologist, they would help you with these thoughts so you don't have to act on it, and maybe get more included in society and finally feel normal. You can get Help and get a better situation and a better life, and it will be better for anyone. Plus, you can do age play with other adults who look younger if you really need to.
But please, consider going to therapy, they are not your enemies, they won't put you in any danger, they are here to try and help you without any judging!think about it if you really love the youth
