Fairly standard story for Japan. I found his identification and admission of being a pedophile specifically to be interesting, though. Although Japan doesn’t have civil commitment (which is a very good reason to deny minor-attraction in the US) I haven’t usually seen stories where the suspect admits their sexual orientation.A 45-year-old unemployed man was arrested and charged with having sexual intercourse with his eight-year-old adopted daughter at his home and filming the scene, as well as taking voyeuristic photographs of the lower bodies and breasts of two seven-year-old girls, who were friends of his daughter, and producing child pornography. The man told interrogators that he was a paedophile by his own admission.
Yasuhiro Tabata, 45, an unemployed man from Fukuoka City, was arrested and charged with non-consensual sexual intercourse and filming sexual acts.
Tabata is accused of having sexual intercourse with his adopted daughter, who was eight years old at the time, at his home in Fukuoka City between March last year and January this year, filming it with a smartphone, and taking voyeuristic photographs of two girls, who were seven years old at the time, and producing child pornography.
According to the police, the eight-year-old girl is the child of his second marriage.
The two girls, who were 7 years old at the time, were friends of the 8-year-old adopted daughter and had been visiting her home, and Tabata had been posting videos of the three of them having sex on social networking sites.
In January this year, the police received a report that sexual images of children were being posted on social networking services, and when they investigated, the involvement of Tabata emerged.
When questioned, Tabata said that he was a paedophile and generally admitted to the charges.
In the US trying to argue a civil rights case as a pedophile looks something like this:
The sentence?Appearing in an Ohio court for a pretrial hearing, Phillip Distasio, 34, of Rocky River, Ohio, said he was a pedophile.
He told the judge, "I'm a pedophile. I've been a pedophile for 20 years. The only reason I'm charged with rape is that no one believes a child can consent to sex. The role of my ministry is to get these cases out of the courtrooms.”
”If you want to challenge the law, that's your right to do so," Judge Kathleen Sutula said. "But we're going to follow the laws of Ohio in this courtroom."
A Cuyahoga County judge on Monday sentenced admitted pedophile Phillip Distasio to 26 consecutive life prison terms -- one for each count of rape committed against eight special-needs boys in his care.
Common Pleas Judge Kathleen Ann Sutula included provisions that Distasio be ineligible for parole, that he be banned from using computers with Internet connections, and that all of his mail be screened by a lawyer.
