Putting registered users back on moderation

Post by Jim Burton »

(For the love of GOD admins please PLEASE remove this "has to be approved by staff" thingy, if I do anything anything even a little questionable again you can just flat out perma ban me, you have my permission (not that you need it but still))
It is not a normal policy here to put users back on moderation after being in the registered or senior groups. We are unlikely to do this for users who appear to be suicidal, as we would rather have a fast-running peer support facility. Notably, our forum is not a professionally-run peer support or suicide prevention facility, but it shares some staff with a real-time peer support chat.

What might cause us to temporarily/permanently suspend a users' posting privileges or put them on moderation are threats to the safety and credibility of MAP Forum. Here are two recent examples:

1. User posts an angry vent about entrapping antis to blow their heads off. This is a revenge fantasy that I'm aware a lot of MAPs have, and we know that:

a) It will probably never be acted upon.
b) So best not to seriously entertain in public places, as it risks being taken out of context by antis and boomers.

2. User has posted for months but continues to make unhinged personal barbs/attacks towards other users that are just inappropriate and out of place. We decide they are probably not stable enough to post unmoderated, and could be driving users away, so we decide to moderate them until they either go away or become manageable/stable in their behavior.

Also when all that heated stuff went down I may or may not have been drunk posting .....I...I um won't do that again lol....

To further elborate, I'm just....tired how everything is SOOOOO corrupt in society but we can't....openly talk about it ya know? Or I mean we can but we can't talk about taking extreme measures against it. I get 100 percent why not only does it look bad and makes us all look bad it can also lead to potential legal issues with law enforcement and possible federal agencies.

It just....feels wild how people can do the most disgusting unhinged crap ever and....basically be celebrated by ignorant fools who do not know any better. Some guy talks to a 15 yo that's fully agreeing to the conversations and what not not even any actual grooming going on suddenly the man's the most evil person on the planet that deserves the wood chipper? (Which saying wood chipper in and of itself is technically a threat) It's just...fuck man that gets my blood PUMPUNG, especially when I'm drunk.

That said I fully understand why you guys did what you did and I in no way condone my own actions as they were pretty damn unhinged drunk or not I need to try to hold myself to a much higher standard than rambling like a madman so in that sense I do NOT plan to be drunk and post here again to say the lease so apologies for the drama sincenerly.
