Thank you for this post, Kara. It isn't often that non-MAPs share their voices on forums like this, and I'm very glad that you did.

What happened to your brother is truly horrible. People like him are the innocent victims of the hatred against MAPs, and it makes me enraged that his life was ruined for an innocent act of kindness.

It is incredibly valuable for me to see your perspective, and it heartens me that you have come to the understanding that you have. It gives me hope that we can be understood and accepted by society, and that's very important for me. We all wish for a world where the tragedy that happened to your brother will never happen again.

Please don't hesitate to use this forum to vent, or to share your perspective. Including allies in our movement is critical, and I'm so glad that you're here.

Thank you for the kind words. Alot of how I think and how i want to go forward is based on my brother. He was a kind soul. Him being a MAP was part of who he was. I know if he had talked to me, I would have accepted that part, as that part looking back made him who he was. He felt I think that society would never forgive him. Maybe he was right, maybe wrong. I hope wrong. I wish he had found this community. So I will fight in his memory but also because it is right. I love what you wrote in your introduction. I am learning, believe me alot. I can see your community is very much a broad church. That the same as all communities. So I hope one day, all of you will be accepted by society. One lesson am learning is that it is society that is wrong, not any of you. Anything I can do to help, I will do. Again thank you for your kind words. I really dont think I am doing anything special.
