Children aren't equals in terms of knowledge. But whether they can know if they enjoy sex? Yes. We have an obligation to teach children and not coerce them, but that doesn't hiding sex and sexual pleasure from them.

Dunno! There are some children who are naturally intelligent in certain areas, on par of not exceeding those of adults.

Intelligence and knowledge aren't the same thing. You can be as dumb as rock and still be more knowledgeable about certain things. Children don't have to be equals to argue for a pro c position, in my opinion.

Equal in needing respect and appropriate autonomy.

Different set of needs - but this is not just child vs adult. Needs for baby, toddler, child, teen, young adult, adult, older adult all different. It is right that there are different rules in some ways especially when it comes to caring for people but there are no simple lines and no blanket boundary from child to adult.

If I had to say something here... As an AAM, I do want to be treated as an equal. No matter my age or intellect, equality would be for the best, for all of us. It may be idealistic to wish for a thing, but I can't deny that this is one of my greatest hopes for the futured. To be an equal alongside others, without being seen only as my age. I am so much more than that, and the same goes for my fellow AAMs.
