There is a stereotype that people with poor mental health are a danger to others, but often they are more a danger to themselves because of the self hate that comes with it. Given we are viewed with disgust and hate at every level of society, many of us have terrible mental health and I think this makes us disengage and turn inwards rather than fight the stigma.
