Stand-up comedy is stupid

Stand-up comedy is stupid. Nothing they say is funny. Some idiots laughing at their "jokes". Give me a break. I know this sounds a bit stupid but I suppose this is what the Off-Topic section is for. DANAT4T out.

I've seen a few that are actually funny, I guess the point of stand-up comedy is usually to interact with their audience and make fun of them, really. And sometimes it works.

Sounds like bad stand-up comedy that didn't appeal to you. You shouldn't seek out stand-up comedy for being stand-up comedy, but if you happen to come across something because it relates to you, I'd wager a guess that it'd have better effect. Or it's another issue.

You didn't really state an argument, you stated an opinion based on your limited experience of stand up comedy. Not trying to devalue your opinion my friend as it is totally valid and personal to you! but I think people are just encouraging you not to generalize which is good advice!

I love stand-up comedy, it takes a lot of courage for someone to leave their comfort zone, stand in front of a room full of strangers, some being hostile hecklers, and then try to make them laugh. When they have a talent for it they create a room full of people out having fun with friends.
