Sadly some parents wont even try or will just refuse because "you live under their roof" and "they own the house" etc. many just want total control at all times and if THEIR kid tried to tell them to knock or whatever then theyd laugh in their kids face.rpgvx wrote: Tue Aug 25, 2026 1:03 am I taught my parent to knock, it took quite a while for the habit to stick properly, but every time they failed I reminded them. If you do stuff like this as a parent, then you may be teaching your child that respect and boundaries don't exist. That may have detrimental long term effects for them.
