How true is this? I'm 20, I began having sexual thoughts when I was 7. I remember looking at adult women and being sexually aroused. But i didnt masturbate until I was 10 or 11 years old. I didnt really have sexual fantasies until I was 11. Maybe i just had an early puberty.

I read in hunter gatherer societies, children often have sex with other children or adults. Also why is it not traumatic if a child has sex with a child, but its traumatic if a child has sex with an adult?

Children who are willing to have sex with an adult shouldnt experience trauma, same goes with a child having sex with another child. The "trauma" comes from police and courts intervention - they do the most harm to the child imo

That's quite common, it pretty much lines up with my own experience growing up. Seriously, people should remember their own school days, I was always trying to get some with very little success when I was at school, there were some guys and girls who were much more successful in that department and girls would chase older guys, they had more to offer and more maturity. It's just how it was and still is I'm sure, even if people like to pretend kids are just into dolls and toy cars until they're 18.

What it means to "understand" sex is intentionally vague because it's an attempt at a catch-all argument dismissing broader pro-c perspectives. Different people and groups apply their own meanings to what sex actually is and quite often can't really explain it themselves.

Some modern day H/G societies still practice it but there were many that practiced sex.
Trobriand tribes are still known for letting kids engage in sexual play with other children so they can learn for adulthood.

In Greece, they practiced pederasty as a rite of passage into adulthood.

In some native American tribes the girls were considered adults as soon as they had their menstruation.

In many H/G cultures, sex and marriage with what we would see as kids or teenagers was widely accepted, with little to no documented harm.

In certain jurisdictions in the US during the 1800s, age of consent was as low as 7 to 12 years of age.

It depends on the individual, their experience, their culture, and how sheltered they've been from the topic.

But I have to turn it around and ask, why is this assertion being made? In relation to what? In what specific legitimate context would a child need to understand sex? Is it a real context, or just fear-mongering designed to scare people away from the topic?

If there are legitimate contexts where normies are actually concerned about children's ignorance about sex, then that is very easily solved by age-appropriate sex education.

some might say "they don't need to know yet.", the fact is they indeed need it.

my story as an example:
I'm horny as fuck as a kid (5yo+), my biggest dream at that time is falling into a fictional erotic world (like falling into the Backrooms) where adults make kids do a lot of erotic play, including many fetishes.
I'm not groomed by anyone, I don't even know what does a female genital look like at that time.

I know I'm not the only horny kid, there's no valid reason to not teaching sex appropriately.

I grew up in a family where my mom taught me and my sister about sex fairly early, so we had a general knowledge of how it worked. I was about 7 when I first started discovering my dad's adult magazines (my love for vaginas was greatly inspired by Penthouse magazine models lol), and then his adult videos in my teens. I also had alot of intimate experiences with cousins and classmates when I was young, even though none of us really knew yet about the requirement of an erect penis for penetration. I was 8 the first time I remember feeling aroused and having an erection-it was early on a summer morning, before my parents were awake, and I was standing on our porch when I got the sudden urge to strip naked, and as I stood there, sun warming my body, knowing that neighbors could see me, I got very hard and had that first rush of sexual excitement.

I think the only kids in my generation that didn't at least have a passing knowledge of sex were the ones in very conservative Christian households. When we started having sex ed classes in school around grade 6 or 7, everyone was kind of nervously joking and laughing, but the kids from those types of families were mortified.

Compare that with now, where access to erotic material is very easy for any kid with an internet connected device, and with the proliferation of minors making their own solo erotic material or performing erotic acts on livestreams, the idea that kids don't understand sex or sexuality is ridiculous.
