I think it's total bullshit that the owner of the campsite had to make a public statement claiming that the MAP camp would not be happening because the town's locals threatened her businesses. A huge part of the fear was that it was an M.A.P. event near a school and last year a 13-year-old boy was found dead near the campsite. Police reported it as a suicide but the parents think something happened to him. I guess I could see the local's concerns if a kid was murdered at the prior event but it's unconfirmed. Advertisements for the camp mentioned activities such as "Dirty Bingo," discussions about MAP politics, and awards for "Most Pervy" paintings, sparking outrage, particularly due to its proximity to a public K-12 school. Following a heated town meeting attended by over 100 residents and publicized on social media, the owner of the Onion River Campground, Stephanie Jacquelyn Rieke, denied granting permission for the event and claimed it would not occur at her property. The controversy also drew attention to broader concerns about the normalization of MAPs and the need for safeguarding children, with significant debate surrounding the appropriateness of such gatherings.

The event host was close friends with a no-map but the people who reported on it never fucking mentioned that. Just that he was a confessed M.A.P. This report I came across that exposed the poor guy says this. "At the center of this story is a man using the pseudonym, MytheB, identified as Nathan Jacquez, who planned the camp at a site alarmingly close to a K-12 school.” I checked out this guy's Instagram where he promotes his art (which is nowhere near pedophilic) and the comments are full of the most horrific things you can say to a human being. Then they attacked the kind lady who might have allowed the event at her campground. The owner of the campground is Stephanie Jacquelyn Rieke. This is what the report said about her. “Even displaying his map-affirming art at a local shop known for hosting LGBTQ events. This same business owns the suspected campground for the camp. The owner of the campground, Jacqueline Rica, has called Mythby, Nathan Jacquez, her, quote, best friend. She also says she employed him at her business, Rabble Rouser Chocolate and Crafts.” The town made her go to a local town meeting to breathe down her neck and subtly threaten her business. Here's what this one bitch ass guy had to say to her after she confirmed that this was her best friend. “I think a simple first step would be for you to commit in front of everybody here that this person is permanently banned from the campground unless your friendship with a pedophile comes before the safety of our children. So you commit right now that that person will be permanently banned from the campground property.” She was pressured into agreeing to ban her own friend just to please these assholes before they caused disruption to her businesses. When the report was talking about Nathan it mentioned all of the "dangerous" organizations he was associated which were no-map companies helping map's NOT OFFEND like B4UACT.

We can't even hold an event where we can just talk to each other and communicate as human beings. It doesn't matter if we devote our lives to never offending. It doesn't matter if we PROTECT children. Our very existence makes them call for genocide. I'm telling you. They're just going to continue to SQUEEZE the bottle til it POPS and when it does then they'll be truly afraid when Maps are no longer afraid to show our faces. To show our population. When we're at the gates of The White House demanding the right to talk. To be in public. TO FUCKING EXIST. I say a bunch of us MAPs throw in on a plot of land in the middle of nowhere to be able to hold meetings and events without fear of public outrage. This land could be where an abandoned hotel is. We'll pay to have it fixed up to have our corner of the world. Shit, let's buy an island if we have to but we can't keep letting this happen to us. It's unacceptable. The stigmatization and isolation of MAPs, even those committed to lawful, ethical behavior and child protection. If we are to foster safety and understanding, we need spaces for open dialogue and support, not public shaming and death threats. We have the right to converse. We have the right to vent. We have the right to exist.

What did you think about making our own map location? I am proposing buying an abandoned hotel that's an hour from civilization and call it Mazes and Portals Inn. Something with M.A.P acronyms but not too revealing. I don’t know what I’ll call it but it could just be a sanctuary for map’s to meet and bond over ideas and strategies to grow as a community and as an activist movement.

You think I have the money for a project for something like this? I’m probably broker than you I respect your response but shit, I have to find all of the “rich maps” that the media is always talking about. Start a go fund me. Shit like that. We need a center for us to feel safe, you know? The Mormon’s took over Utah, we’re taking over Nebraska. lol. Probably not Nebraska but you get my point. I just have to organize it and get the word out.
