Building on 'The MAP community needs to chill'

Post by BLueRibbon »

Earlier this month, I wrote an article focusing on the need for greater tolerance within our own community. I discussed various points of contention, such as alliances with other paraphiles, contact stances, and generational differences. The article generated a fair amount of criticism, which was inevitable. Let's consider some of the issues raised.

Of course, virped.org remains wholly excluded from Web Archive and Celibate Pedophiles remains wholly excluded from Virped.org.

We have no idea why this is, but Newgon.com for instance remains wholly excluded from Web Archive.

Clearly, the views of Ethan (as per a decade ago) are inconvenient to the present hierarchy in VP, when prominent admins have even been seen to make unwarranted law enforcement reports against, and share deceptively obtained information about MAPs.

To give anti-c's their full credit, a lot of material has (just) been republished on the following site, including Ethan's early writings:

https://thepword.net/age-difference.html

https://thepword.net/transforming-society-to-allow.html

https://thepword.net/taking-stock-progress-by.html

https://thepword.net/surprise-what-two-yearolds.html

https://thepword.net/thought-moralists-on-sexual.html

He makes valid points, but appears to be distorted against MAPs like a teleio. Pro-legalization/youth-rights is only ever discussed with reference to children, and he "trusts teleios" to make a dispassionate call on AoC???!

Looks like VirPed basically split in half then. It seems to me that the original admins were much more reasonable.

Maybe we should work on an argument about relationships always being part of the broader fight for status and identity because of history and human nature. I'd like to be on good terms with reasonable anti-c's who understand projects such as Newgon started focused on relationships, but will always be part of their sphere, always have been.

I am very happy to work with moderate anti-c people.

MAPs, Zoos, but especially pro-c MAPs and Zoos are the discomfort wedge that will liberate Identity-based politics from its denial of acts and desires, and make it capable of facilitating a lawmaking agenda that transforms lived experiences.

Lived experience has never been far from identity. Under any normal circumstances, lived experiences, "contact" are central to subjective worlds and identity.

These are the kind of arguments that convince moderate-c's, if better fleshed out.
