MAP and LGBT

A place to talk about Minor-Attracted People, and MAP/AAM-related issues. The attraction itself, associated paraphilia/identities and AMSC/AMSR (Adult-Minor Sexual Contact and Relations).

MAP and LGBT

Post by Konatachan99 »

I know there's a lot of overlap with LGBT and MAPs, do you think being minor attracted should be a sexuality within the broader LGBT+ community, do you think it's a seperate issue or somewhere in-between, do you maybe think minor attraction should be classed as part of neurodivergency. Just curious to hear people's thoughts on it

Is pedophilia a sexual orientation?

No link for this one, but 10 years later: Revisiting Seto’s (2012) conceptualization of orientation to sexual maturity among pedohebephilic persons
Abstract
Emerging research has examined the experiences of individuals who are sexually attracted to children. This study collected both quantitative and qualitative data from individuals with self-identified pedohebephilic attractions (n = 116). Several analyses were used to assess whether the sample characteristics followed Seto’s (2012) conceptual outline of pedophilia as an orientation to sexual maturity. The three developmental characteristics of gender-based sexual orientation were explored using survey and interview data. Overlapping patterns with relation to the age of onset, expressions of both sexual and romantic attractions, and stability of such attraction over time were found. As noted by researchers and clinicians in this area, there are clear clinical implications associated with a shift in the conceptualization of sexual attraction to children. Such etiological conceptualizations are often poorly understood and/or conflated with sociocultural understandings and reactions. Despite resistance to such conceptualizations, the findings indicate that orientation to sexual maturity closely mirrors the developmental trajectory of gender sexual orientation, as outlined in Seto’s seminal paper.
If only some people can have it, that's not happiness. That's just nonsense. Happiness is something anyone can have.

I do because age attractions are just differences.

Well, yes, I would like to see that happen. It probably will not be anytime soon. But if they accept trans then why not MAP as well?

On one hand, I think by definition, we should be in the same kind of category.

On the other hand though, I'm not sure if we actually should in terms of social movements and politics. LGBT movements have turned out to be rather self destructive and cannibalistic towards themselves. It's not rare to see them achieve great successes in terms of combating bigotry, only to not slow the train down and start going after allies — which ironically stirs up more problems for them, and has contributed to a lot of the backtracking around the perception of LGBT acceptance that we've been seeing around places like the US and UK.

Being a rather high risk group, if we ever did find ourselves in the same box as them again, it might go well for a little while, but I believe it'd lead to us getting eaten up and spit out, either accidentally or intentionally.

I have no desire to be involved with the modern LGBT community save for the few that haven’t completely thrown us under the bus. However, my attractions are inherently gay. I’m not attracted to men, but I’m attracted to masculine characteristics that even prepubescent boys have.

So could you please give me example of when they went after their allies?
