Apparently, Prosper was planning a school shooting, but was thankfully stopped before he could carry out the attack. We were not aware of this when posting our article. We'll talk internally about how to respond to this news.

I want to reiterate that carrying out mass murder is not beneficial to our community and its goals, and targeting children who have nothing to do with MAP hysteria is unarguably wrong. However, the UK needs to accept that it is not offering the support that young MAPs need. Instead, it is torturing MAPs with a relentless barrage of hateful messaging and legislation that makes life for its MAP citizens close to unbearable. Sadly, I suspect that rather than being introspective about the ways in which they are incubating potential extremism, the British government and media will instead choose to exacerbate the problem by further promoting the belief that MAPs are all nefarious sadists, using this story as ammunition.

“We cannot ever begin to comprehend why someone would plan to kill innocent children and are so grateful to those arresting officers who helped prevent this from taking place.”

It could be an angel of mercy type of motivation. Imagining himself to be sparing children of suffering.

There's only so much the government and media can do to address these problems given the intense hostility of the general public towards MAPs, even if they had the will to do so.

The British media could start by at least reporting some of the fairly mild comments I send them in response to UK news stories.

Silencing and ignoring people is not a good plan. We could see from our original research that it frustrated Prosper, who had a lot to say but no real platform for expressing his views. It's a shame the MAP community couldn't help him before he almost shot up a school, but it's hard when the authorities and general public force us to be anonymous and paranoid.

Possibly, but it's also just as likely that he was in pain and wanted to inflict as much pain on others as he could.

Whatever your sexuality, targeting kids is the best way to cause pain to society, at large.

Interesting how I knew this guy on Twitter. We interacted a few times. Maybe I'll write a blog piece about my feelings regarding this situation someday.

My recollection is that he was banned from a chatserver for being disruptive. Supposedly at some later date he became more established under a different name, but was widely considered to be mentally unstable and not seeking help.

It's hard to tell if anything could have been done re. counter-extremism intervention. There are no prizes for deradicalizing potential mass killers.
