Hello..

Post by EOF »

I am supposed to introduce myself here, but nothing coherent comes to mind. So here is a not-so-coherent stream of consciousness, I can't master anything better-looking in what little time I have, but hopefully it will serve enough an explanation of what I am, and won't be too dull to read. Please, forgive me if I come off as rudely dismissive of effort of people who have been in the business way longer than me, this is not my intent.

How many of these forums there have been already? And has there been any progress, at all? It's all so futile, seemingly.

Hm, an IP owned by FranTech solutions, who also host yande.re. One could mention some other imageboards, and how the situation regarding the topic has progressed there, but that would be against the second rule, wouldn't it? Although, apparently, there is a thread where somebody complains about being banned on 4channel. And to think that media would once call it a far-left website that provides CP to internet pedophiles...

It all isn't just futile, the situation is slowly but steadily getting worse. Whether pro-c, pro-reform or what not, it seems as if every word we say will be interpreted in the worst possible light and used against us (although there are not entirely negative coming out experiences, apparently). Instead of trying to argue with our opponents, should we start thinking of ways to survive the coming technodystopia? Of ways where it doesn't matter if the normal folk and its rulers only think that we shouldn't have sex with kids or if they want to genocide us entirely off the face of the planet.

But then, it's easier said than done, achieving a degree of independence from society. You could argue that we might as well start fantasizing about creating our own government on an island in Pacific, or about a colony on Mars, or about isekaing ourselves to a cute yuri world full of loli elves.

It has been asked if we should have another virped, but I wonder if we could use a forum like Mu off the clearnet, a forum where we could be more free to talk on what we want and love. What is available on the dark net seems to be limited to porn sites that are allowed to exist for a few years and then are harvested for inmates; much like a farmer leaves his field untouched for a while to later fill the barn with wheat. Tor is prone to timing-based attacks, and phpBB hasn't exactly been lacking in safety-related bugs. Yet, it's as if nothing has changed in the past 20 years when it comes to technology we use whereas the tools of those who seek to destroy us have become much more sophisticated. [strikethrough]The sooner they rewrite Linux to Rust, the better.[/strikethrough]

This is a small, but growing public forum. Should it become more popular, won't it be infiltrated with AI bots and other bad faith actors? In fact, can we trust each other, at all? In Poland, there once was this guy called Lech Wałęsa, a major leader in resistance to the communist government, was given Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts... turns out, he had some strange ties to his local KGB, after all. If you take a look at the history of underground rock bands in the Soviet Union, many, as it turns out, were curated by KGB's fifth directorate... You get the idea.

And yet, despite all, here I am. I've grown increasingly dissatisfied with the imageboard public and its desperate attempts to shove head deeper in sand as its ability to communicate gets increasingly crippled and its contingent becomes infiltrated with new, less tolerant people. At least, that's true of places that I would visit. I started to feel, although seldomly, that I was in the wrong place and was talking to the wrong people. Am I in the right place now? Dunno. I don't know even if I'll stay here for long. But I do hope for a good company, even if in the end all of our talks turn out to be petty distractions in a world where we're deprived of what's most dear to us. So, please, treat me well, and nice to meet you!

I always say that the only way to guarantee failure is to never try. So I'm glad you're here, still trying with us.

As RoosterDance said, we're certain to never succeed if we stop trying.

Cultural changes frequently occur in a non-linear fashion, like a pendulum. Radical change begins to occur, encounters resistance, a reactionary turnaround pushes back society into a state potentially worse than it was initially, then counter-reactionary efforts bring back the transformative trends that had already been set in motion...

The current MAP movement can be construed as "counter-reactionary efforts" to continue pursuing the true ideals of the sexual revolution. Remember that between 1977 and 1979 in France, several petitions were started by leading intellectuals to reform or abolish age of consent laws.

"Between 1990 and 2002 the Netherlands operated what was in effect an age of consent of 12, subject to qualifications." The law became more restrictive without any evidence of harm from the framework in place, but rather because of conservative pushback (often completely disconnected from reality) and a few media circuses regarding gruesome sexual crimes perpetrated on young people.

Change is possible.

I might be being led to the gas chamber, but why not spit in their eye and stomp on their foot on the way to my inevitable end.

I don’t know if the kind of activism I’m doing is the most effective, or even effective at all. But it’s what I know and what I’m good at.

Finding tech solutions is probably also important, but I’m of less help there.
If only some people can have it, that's not happiness. That's just nonsense. Happiness is something anyone can have.
