Pedophiles could see death penalty under new House GOP bill: 'Taken off the streets permanently'

Post by mrlolicon93 »

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., is unveiling a new set of bills that could have child sexual predators facing the death penalty.

"If you are raping someone, if you're molesting someone, you are essentially murdering their soul."
Holy hyperbole, Batman! Hysteria with a side helping of religious overtones. To be expected, considering Luna's connections to Qanon.

What a loon.
She suggested that the death penalty aspect could have put some people off of an issue that otherwise could get wide bipartisan support, but she argued that child predators "cannot be rehabilitated."
I guess this shows there's strategic value in supporting things like Virped.

Was she taking inspiration from one of O'Carrol or Brongersma books??? I remember I read this very sentence, reported as an anti's mantra: the way it was dismantled was genius. I'll look it up and update this post....

---

Found it. I could not find it on the first round, because "spirit" is used instead of "soul". It is in O'Carrol's "The radical case":

Dr Densen-Gerber caps everything else for sheer idiocy by her reference to 'spiritual murder', a phrase so totally emotional in content that when we try to find meaning beyond the emotion we are left with nothing: a literally incorporeal nothing.
For how can one conduct an inquest on a spirit? What does she mean by 'spirit'? If Dr Densen-Gerber were talking about psychological damage, which could be discerned in such factors as emotional upset, or the inability in later years to be able to enjoy an adult sex life, then all well and good. But too often the media allow campaigners like Densen-Gerber to get away with nonsense like talk of 'spiritual murder'.

For context, this refers to a lead story in the Chicago Tribune of 15 May, 1977. So we are talking almost 50 years ago, and the same nonsense is perpetuated by the new generation of antis.

Sadly you find this phrase even in serious reports on "sex abuse" by the Japanese public broadcaster NHK.
If only some people can have it, that's not happiness. That's just nonsense. Happiness is something anyone can have.

It's funny, and drags their discourse back to witch hunting invoking the dark arts. I'd like to see more of the civil libertarian lefties attacking the child dogma by critiquing this.

It's pretty cruel to say stuff like that about victims as well. It's basically saying your trauma has completely destroyed you, so you can never lead a normal life, heal or anything like that. Even if you think MAPs are evil, is that really a responsible thing to be saying to victims? Trauma happens, catastrophizing doesn't help people; you can be respectful of trauma without treating it like a world ending event.

Exactly. How can they be so blind to the psychological damage they are creating?

The panic was kicked off by the British and American social purity movement of the late 19th century. Central to this was the idea that an adolescent girl was ruined for life had she been deflowered by an older man. Why, she wouldn't be pure! Her poor future husband!

MAP and AMSC hysteria is rooted in Victorian and Christian values that have no place in the modern world. Unfortunately, the psychology industry took up the mantle in the 1980s and provided pseudoscientific justifications for the puritanical nonsense, giving it a second lease of life.

This bullshit is not surprising when you consider where it comes from. Personally, I think Japan had the right idea in dealing with Christians indoctrinating people with their stupid 'ideas'.
