It's not illegal in normal life but I think in the UK at least they take a dim view of digitally normalizing it, but in the UK they take a dim view on most things digital. They won't be happy there until everyone is back in the fields with their oxon.

I don't think that will happen in the US at least. Freedom of Speech is really valued. I can see that happening in the UK though, or Australia.

On that note, I wonder why that hasn't happened yet? Society seems to see pedophile advocacy as misinformation.

Apparently the Pedophile Information Exchange's magazine was labelled "conspiracy against public morals", a real crime in UK law. I'm not aware of any pro-MAP groups forming in the UK since PIE closed. I wonder if an online group based in the UK would be illegal?

It is also important to note that in Florida, the man who made a guide on how to have legal & safe contact with children (it was nothing sexual or inappropriate, like how to have longer hugs or get to hold hands briefly), was labeled as obscenity back in 2010.

It was literally a code of conduct for safe interactions and people freaked out.

He was sentenced to two years probation back in 2011 and to continue "treatment".

Edit: He was located in Colorado as well, a Florida deputy ordered the book on Amazon and had it delivered to him in Florida. They then used that as reason to enforce Florida obscenity laws on a Colorado resident.

I asked an AI about the term MAP, how long has it been a term and has discrimination increased or decreased since that term came into use, has there been any impact from that term.

The response is that it has been around for 30 years which is longer than I thought. Research indicates that while the term aims to reduce stigma, public response has been overwhelmingly negative. It seems that this is a result of people seeing it as a term created to normalize sexual relationships with children, and so it hasn't had a net positive impact on perceptions. Interestingly, the response claims that child protection principles makes stigmitization intentional, as stigmatization of the impulse to sexually abuse children plays a critical role in deterring abuse. So while the term was created to combat stigmitization, there is a concerted effort to increase stigmitization.

Hardly conclusive of the impact of the term but I was surprised that even though it's recognized that people should feel able to seek help and support which stigmitazation reduces, there's still a push to increase stigmitization.
