I agree, the trouble is that facts are spread about and not at the fingertips of maps.
There should be an effort to collect research and data in a way that is easily indexed and searched. Not just dense research papers which are useful, but case studies and easy to digest information.
Also use offline AI tools to help to quickly read through dense research papers. Knowledge is a tool we should wield better to push back.

This. The experts already know, but society at large isn't listening. Since people aren't taught critical thinking, and in many contexts critical thinking is actively discouraged, there is a limit to how much educated people can change society. Consider climate change denialism or the anti-vax movement's popularity. Disinformation has put society into a state where no belief can ever be shown to be wrong.Bookshelf wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:28 am What's problematic with this approach is that the evidence to support us already exists, it just gets censored. For example, the US government censored the Rind study which helps support our position.
Contrary to how people act, the majority in our society don't really follow the science when it comes to deeply rooted beliefs. What science they do agree with is usually one that just so happens to align with their beliefs at the time; or rather, doesn't challenge them. When people say, "I'm willing to change my opinion in the face of evidence", they mean that for things that don't really matter to them emotionally — like how fast an asteroid orbiting a planet moves, or what classification of arthropod this animal technically is. These things don't challenge core beliefs. When evidence does challenge core beliefs, it's ignored.
