I agree! If we resort to violence they'll just point fingers and use it to justify their positions, just like evil people do when they force their victims and gaslight them until they snap back and defend themselves through yelling or violence. I've run multiple blogs before, social media engagement activities, on the ground and online activities but over the years I've settled on what for me feels most effective. I focus on those projects rather than too broad a scatter-gun approach, I always feel I have to be doing something because I can't rest knowing there's a great wrong that isn't being fixed.
Maps are the whipping boys of the world, we take it, unfairly, and it saddens me to see so many maps giving up any belief they might have had for fairness. We deserve better, we deserve as much respect and care as anyone, and if it won't be given to us freely then we have to take it. I don't mean through violence, but through action. There are so many tools and avenues available to us today, society has constructed rules and structures that are used against us, but they can be used just as affectively in our favour, if we choose to. That's my approach to the world, use what's available to push back and build some fairness back into the system.
We cannot allow that to be us, no matter how much we want to. I've heard some maps say we should defend ourselves, but fighting fore with fire, blood with blood, rarely works out of the victims.
