Suspended sentence, as expected. The UK's hunt of MAPs must always be condemned, but at least it doesn't go for insane US-style sentencing.

https://www.reddit.com/r/unitedkingdom/ ... suspended/

Some of the comments actually seem to realize how stupid the "making" charge is.

Doesn't look very positive to me. The way some people respond, do they think PIM is being produced on demand? The actual nature of the 'market' really needs to be made clear to the public. I think they might be slightly less outraged if they realized that people are mostly recycling old images and videos that could be from as far back as the 60s.

I believe images are disabled on the forum to avoid things that could get us shut down.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Fair enough. Maybe you could have a system like VoA, where moderators approve any uploads before they're posted?

I missed this comment, but yeah. It's not very positive at all. I was just happy to see some small glimmers of hope in the pile of uninformed shit.

A few people commenting seemed to realize that anyone could be prosecuted by receiving something unrequested and also that the term "making" seems to imply "production" which downloading definitely is not.

I wonder how many people think that Huw was out there filming minors himself? I can understand the outrage at his suspended sentence (somewhat) if they're picturing him as a CP producing kingpin.

Uploading images is now possible, but embedding is not.

You can upload screenshots and other imagery relevant to the discussion.

Please do not turn this into an image board. There are plenty of other places to find legal images of children.

People don't read well, and many don't care to think about the finer details.

A man watched child porn. Child porn is bad. The man is bad.

One reason I support 16/12 so strongly is that a lot of adults really don't have better cognitive skills than many 12 year olds.
