Besides helping you cope, I think that's a really good advice. After all it's sad but when things change in the world it's because people with power, control over the institutions or money push for it.CantChainTheSpirit wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:31 pm Study a course, start a business, change job, start investing, do something positive.
You are right of course, it doesn't have to be about getting rich, it should be about what you find fulfilling. Some people just love learning and studying, others love to do voluntary work and charity, others love research, others are driven by wealth, others by writing music or stories or poetry or painting. Find something that makes you happy and go with it.ReArm! wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:51 pm Besides helping you cope, I think that's a really good advice. I don't think getting rich is moral tbh, I'd rather advise you that instead of a regular buisness you build up a cooperative with more people aligned with your interests, but I think my socialism is getting in the way of the point I was trying to make.
So, as I was saying, all changes in the political landscape have happened because people with power (be it control over the military, political power or money), wanted to. As I think you know, people won't change the system just because you give a really good argument or because a study contradicts their views, so if we want to do something we need power, we need institutions and we need money.
CantChainTheSpirit wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:31 pm I do sympathise with the OP but the only question is how to respond to an unjust, insane world that just wants to hurt you.
My philosophy has always been that if I'm surrounded by people who hate me and want to see me fail then the best response is to be happy and succeed because that p*sses them off. If I killed myself they'd be happy. If I'm angry and miserable then they're happy. If I'm feeling like a victim then they're happy. If I hate myself then they're happy. What really pisses anti's off is knowing that I'm happy and doing quite well in life.
So I say if you can, roll all that anger and frustration up into a ball and use it to motivate yourself. Study a course, start a business, change job, start investing, do something positive. Those anti's will still be angry and in their dead-end jobs and life spirals. Those LEA who help the anti's to hate on maps will still be working long hours for low salaries getting traumatised through spirals of hate and depression. Scr*w em, just show the middle finger and refuse to be dragged down.
Thank you both. This kind of motivation is really useful for me, and for many other people in the same situation, I guess.ReArm! wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 7:51 pmBesides helping you cope, I think that's a really good advice.
