With the Epstein case splashing the most powerful people in the world, perhaps those people will decide that this new kind of witch hunt is not in their best interests either, and that will be the final step in ending it.

That's genuinely interesting to think about. I certainly hope it will end swiftly because of this, but then again, I also know that economic conditions continue to worsen for the working class, and the level of resentment could lead to major political upheaval or an increasing descent into fascism, in which case we'll remain scapegoated either by ordinary people with the Epstein scandal fresh in mind, or pedo-hating fascist thugs in sheer denial over their own leaders' involvement.

I hope so but I'm not planning on sticking around in the west long enough to find out. Hopefully the pedo hysteria moral panic doesn't infect China any time soon. They have a relatively low AoC and are slowly softening up on LGBT stuff as the younger generations come to power so I'd like to think there's some reason to be optimistic about the future there.

It has reached a silly level. Presidents, prince's, politicians, CEO's, everyone's being thrown under the bus. It doesn't matter if they're guilty, the media is having a field day trashing everyone they can. Meanwhile, in the UK alone 1,000 people are being arrested every month for anything from AI images to talking to kids. Everyone's too afraid to engage with kids, they're cursed, any interaction or anything connected to kids is enough for the inquisition to show up. Guilt doesn't really matter, the court of public opinion is enough.

But it has reached a point that I think people are starting to question it more. With people in power being impacted so publicly, bringing shame on royal families and political parties and household businesses and celebrities, it hopefully forces the discussion into the public eye, is it really as the media portrays or just the latest witch hunt?

Society as one doesn't exist. People will mix in with a community that they want. The question is a compete irreverence.

I'm not sure which society you're talking about, but in the US and England, society is monolithic. Their "diversity" and "tolerance" are lies and illusions designed to hide the fact that people who (delusionally) identify as Americans act NOT as individuals, but rather as a dark and cruel collective. Perhaps things were different in the 60s and 70s, but now the collective mentality is too ingrained. This means that either the entire collective or individual members (who may eventually leave) can burn out. So "society" in the West definitely "exists."
