As long as the police exist, people’s lives will be in danger.

Before police and prisons existed, if people didn’t like you, you could just leave the community and start another one elsewhere. In the modern colonial world, if you aren’t liked, if your behaviors aren’t considered to be “socially acceptable”, they lock you up. We don’t have to live like this if we seek abolition.
I can easily dream up such an alternate reality and enjoy livimg in it. But it would require a strong and armed community to guarantee safety from all manner of transgressions against us. And of course the question of whether it's realistic wasn't posed here. Maybe in a post collapse world? ;)
That’s exactly what needs to happen. I’m currently reading “This Nonviolent Shit’ll Get You Killed: How Guns Made the Civil Rights Movement Possible” by Charles E. Cobb Jr. Highly recommend.

I agree! Everyone should rather be allowed to protect themselves because in the end , the state is only going to give you the worst outcome.
Exactly. Self defense/ Community defense will always be more effective than state sanctioned violence/ policing.

Police are simply enforcers of the law, it seems it's the law you have a problem with. That's decided by the people and state. If people were in support of you, you could change the law.

If the people aren't in support of you, then you risk having issues regardless of whether you abolish the police. Well, it'd probably make them not abolish the police or re-make them.

I don't think that is right.

The police are a blunt instrument, civil servants that enforce the law. The law isn't about morality, it's about agreeing a set of rules everyone agrees to live by to allow a society to function.

One glaring problem in the system is that the law exists to maintain a society but 99.999% of society has no involvement in defining laws. We are expected to live by them but have no say in them. It's much like how the monarch used to set the laws and everyone in society had to live by them, well that system has continued except it's a tiny group with no oversight that fills the role the monarch used to.

The law isn't about morality either which is something people get confused about. It really is just laws to maintain order. Is a 30mph speed limit moral? Laws are are for order and many laws could be considered immoral or encourage immoral behavior, but that is fine when they also create order since that's all the law exists for.

It isn't the police that define the law, they're just the blunt instrument enforcing it. Change comes from the following in my opinion.

1. Change to how laws are created and maintained. There must be broader involvement in law making.
2. Education and challenging silly stereotypes and false assumptions about youth sexuality and minor attraction. This includes more public engagement.
3. Bring about less discriminatory laws which should be a by-product of 1 and 2 above.

i definitely agree with police abolition for more reasons than just YAP and AAY relationships.

for one, in many cases, police are the ones to respond to mental health calls/wellness checks. i can attest to this, and it just terrified me. i had 4 full grown men dragging me down the stairs and strapping me to a stretcher when i was only like 12-13. i had not commit a crime; i was just a teenager going through a really terrible time.

two, police dont know how to respond to shit without brutality. they should not be carrying lethal weapons 24/7.

three, there are usually more police officers in a county/state/other division than other emergency response officials, such as paramedics or firefighters.

I'm sorry to disagree with you on this, but the Police aren't the problem. The police don't make the laws, they simply enforce them. It's governments and lawmakers in congress who are the problem in this. They are the ones making the laws, and requiring the police to enforce them. What we need to do is change the laws, so that intimate contact between adults and minors is legal.
