Hope you're not dealing with too much hate from users trying to join/post with malicious intent, but it's expected with this sort of site. I do hope that a few genuine people have joined from this or will join, I always love the irony of these groups trying to spread hate but end up helping those struggling finally find the much needed message of "you're not a monster and you're not alone".

Note: The following message is my own opinion, so treat it as such.

The "unthinkable" being us not being stigmatized for just our attractions while reforming the excessively stupid laws that hurt both children & MAPs. See my last post in this thread for where Mu stands regarding reform, they say it better than I can but I again state that I stand behind it.

Edit One: While I do not deny I have pedophilia, it's part of who I am whether I like it or not, but I will never advocate for child abuse. There is a massive problem with how society handles people with our attractions; pretending we don't exist or grouping everyone as criminals does not help either side. If only more people would realize this.

As for why the stigma is dangerous to both children & MAPs, the Mu perspective https://www.map-union.org/perspectives/ ... n-the-push is another great read about this if you haven't already. This article does not intend to paint MAPs as a threat to children, but if you choose to hound any group of people, isolate them, push them to the brink, and leave them with nothing to lose, some of those people will unfortunately become a serious danger to society. So the next time you advocate for the death or jailing of pedophiles/MAPs just for being such, just remember that there is a very good chance that someone in your life you care about is struggling immensely with this and has little to no places to turn to get help without being labeled a threat and cast out of their own life. They have done nothing wrong and are put through mental torture for it.

This is a great message. I'm replying mostly to put it in evidence.

Besides, all these persons who act with such hatred are pretty small-minded, so I wouldn't expect any understanding from them. But yes, those who come because curious and didn't take part to the hateful reactions, will understand how deep is your message.

Firstly, thank you for your kind words. It means a lot.

It is important to note that I don't really blame a lot of these people. In terms of what is acceptable socially/ethically, hatred towards people such as us is a knee-jerk reaction that if you don't visibly show, you yourself might fear being labeled as one of "us".

My problem is related to bigger groups like online personalities, politicians, and general society. They say they wish to protect the children, which I fully agree, but where were you when I was struggling in middle-school with these attractions? Am I not considered a person because of my attractions, did I not deserve help? I was told growing up countless times to watch out for these "pedophiles" but how does a kid even admit to having those feelings or seek help for them?

Edit One: Been re-reading the above a bunch and I believe I didn't convey what I was trying to say properly. I'm not going to change it, but I will add a few comments. This hope, or fight, for reform isn't about me, I used myself as an example since most mentally picture a grotesque person when they think of a pedophile, but I'm not the only one with a story. If you read introductions on various MAP forums, you will often find a fair number admitting to having discovered their attractions when they were still a minor/a "child". I know now of places I could have sought help and I wish I did. What I'm trying to say is that there exists some in society who both are still a minor, or a "child", and have a strong attraction to those much younger than them. Would society want to throw them into a metaphorical "wood-chipper" still?

Moving past my rhetorical questions, in the grand scheme of things, I have a job and live somewhat of a life. The best I can while remaining offense-free even with the ever-tightening grasp of what is and isn't legal.

I've long deleted my twitter account, I can't even read replies if I wanted to. I just see the main tweet itself and the interactions it has. Helps my own mental health to not see what they're all saying.

Makes me wonder when Mu will get their own radar post, besides the occasional tweet. Any kind of publicity towards a reform can be good publicity, hateful or not, because more eyes can see it and make their own decisions.

It's much easier to complain in a short set of tweets than an actual article cherry-picking what they don't like and why. I do believe they likely are writing one, or at least trying to, given their last post pointing out a response from Mu to previous criticisms.

I imagine they are ready to list "MAP" in their radar section.

Then we will know we have made it in the sprawling liberal identity pantheon.

I don't know about the group Gays Against Groomers but I spit my coffee out in laughter when read the groups name.

I mean gays have had a rough history themselves and not entirely out of the woods and so create group to hate another unpopular group just smacks of "please hate them over there and leave us alone".

I might start a group "Maps Against Sodomites" and encourage everyone to stand up to adults putting their privates in bad places, it's really bad for society and dirty and if we don't stop them then every man will find himself with a pee pee being inserted into him. Sure it's nuts but no more nuts than what they're peddling

Just a quick side-note, I also can't help but notice the view count for this thread has skyrocketed over the past couple of days. Almost 20,000 now and it's continuing to climb. Is there someone just constantly refreshing or is it a popular post? I can't imagine it's very interesting to constantly refresh, though. Interesting either way, I keep occasionally checking the number myself to see how much it has grown.

Of course, the forum is public so the more views the better!
