A NORTH ANTRIM woman who admitted causing the death of former rugby international, DUP councillor and convicted paedophile David Tweed, was handed a suspended prison sentence today.

Sentencing Anne Broughton (71) at Antrim Crown Court, Judge Philip Gilpin told her if she had not admitted her guilt, he would have imposed and ordered her to serve a 10-month jail sentence.

He added however, given her guilty plea and completely clear record, he was reducing her sentence to eight months which after “some careful consideration,” he would suspend for a year.

Veteran actor O Yeong-su (81), who had been on trial for allegedly forcibly molesting a junior troupe member eight years ago, was acquitted in the appellate court. While the court of first instance had sentenced him to eight months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence, the ruling was overturned in the second trial.

On the 11th, the Suwon District Court Criminal Appeals Division 6-1 (Presiding Judge Kwak Hyung-seop) overturned the lower court’s ruling and acquitted O, stating, “There is insufficient reasonable suspicion to conclude that a forcible molestation occurred.” The court of first instance had previously found O guilty and imposed the sentence.

O was non-custodially indicted in 2017 for allegedly embracing a female junior troupe member, Ms. A, during a walk in Daegu while staying there for a play, and kissing her cheek in front of her officetel residence. O denied all charges during the investigation and trial, but the court of first instance convicted him.

Singaporean Amos Yee was scheduled to be released on parole in the U.S. on Nov. 7.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDC) inmate status, Yee has been discharged as of Nov. 7, 2025.

However, in a subsequent update, IDC said that Yee was readmitted and is currently held at Danville Correctional Center.

According to the Department of Justice, there are conditions of release that inmates need to abide by to be eligible for parole.

Previously, Yee's parole date was delayed after he violated his terms of release.
