Take the example of individual Japanese artists who fail western notability standards as one of those blurred lines.
If that person's input is wholly within the lolicon genre, it would be wise just to discuss their work's importance abstractly and objectively, not provide the name or anything else that might be interpreted as direction.
If their work is divided between mainstream and lolicon, mentioning the artist's name and their mainstream works only (with a disclaimer) as mentioned should suffice.
