No. Kids should not be wrapped up in cotton wool until they turn 18. That is extremely problematic for their development.
How is stopping a kid from having sex with an adult detrimental to their development?

Mandatory? No… but legal, well, I believe it should be treated like any other pornography, without hysteria. If it’s material distributed without consent, it falls under non-consensual intimate image sharing. If it was produced without consent, it should be illegal, as it already is with any other kind of pornography.
I simply don’t think it needs special treatment, so in principle I’m in favor of legalization.

That isn't what I said. I was reacting to your argument that kids shouldn't be allowed to do gross things in general.

About all this conversation I would like to point out how even in these spaces our society is so puritanical that "it's gross" is an argument that shows up, and I think that this is precisely what we should fight against, even though I think puritanism is inevitable in any society, but it should be always the minimum possible.
Oh and by the way, I don't mean by that that CP should be legal 100%, there are a lot of other arguments against it which have been made here and are completely valid, even though I personally think it should be.

I feel like the term "gross things" is too broad to debate, so I will try to provide specific example that isn't related to sex.
Do you think that children should be allowed to inject heroin?

Heroin is a highly addictive substance, is often sold mixed with much more deadly drugs like fentanyl for profit reasons, that when used long term can lead to many health problems such as infections (usually from injection hygience problems) and cardiovascular system failure, not to mention mental health problems. No other species we know of has invented or used heroin, whereas sex is an activity common to nearly all mammals that one of humanity's closest cousins, bonobos, regularly engages in from a very early stage in life. You are comparing apples to oranges

What about tobacco? Also apparently there are cases of adults (or children) who have mental health decline, or illnesses like PTSD that were caused by adult-child sex, something that is based on sex which is natural.
This is also a response to the argument that kids should be allowed to do gross things.

No. That is wildly dangerous, not just gross.
With claims of harm from AMSC, it is difficult to distinguish between inherent harm and secondary harm (resulting from sociolegal responses).

Indeed, and I'm not aware of any data that distinguishes the purported harm caused by
willing encounters versus
unwilling encounters. Common sense would indicate a big difference between those two categories, but for some funny reason, the reported data ignores this distinction.

Yeah I guess harm is subjective. I hate how subjective morals are. Most of the time, morals are decided based on how people feel. For example, while I don't do it myself, I don't think that necrophilia is morally wrong, yet it is illegal in a lot of countries and can get you on the sex offender registry I would imagine.
Another thing is that I feel like there are double standards when it comes to certain sexual acts. I remember there being a Reddit discussion about the objectification of women being immoral for celebrities. This involved demonizing private communities who goon over adults like K-pop idols on say 4chan or something. I understand the disgust, but targeting such communities feels like a witch hunt.
I personally think that AMSC is harmful as I believe that there are valid harms and I consider body fluid exchange to be valid enough for consent to be required, but arguing with you guys is like arguing with the religious as to why their religion is just just-world fallacy bullshit. Democracy fucking sucks.
