I think you're being a bit too hostile here. He's saying that society is currently not in a position to enact meaningful change. [...]
I was not trying to be hostile, so I'm sorry to hear it came across that way. Thank you for the opportunity to clarify. @TheOtherKindofPride, my sarcasm was meant in good humour and to make a point, and not meant to be derisive. Demoralisation is real, it has hit a lot of MAPs hard in recent years, and it's a topic of special interest to me. I think it's important to acknowledge it where it appears most obvious (as in the specific passages I quoted), since some people don't even realise that they might be demoralised. I get it, times are tough, and I mean no condescension to MAPs who experience demoralisation. But I am happy to disparage antis who want to spread it. After all, this is what our enemies want: for us to feel completely hopeless and give up. I point it out - bluntly in this case - because awareness is the first step to fighting it.

In aiming for brevity, I was guilty of oversimplifying. Jewish people also did a lot during the war, but they had to do so inconspicuously. Obviously they could not go out publicly marching for Jewish Pride in 1930s Munich, and nor can MAPs (without major risk). But (for those not imprisoned) there was serious organisation among the Jewish that took place underground during that period, which laid a lot of groundwork. Their remarkable resilience was not a coincidence.

Ingenuity and innovation are needed in times of darkness more than ever. Even if our near-term objectives are not spectacularly world-changing, there's still important work that needs doing.
