This week, New York Attorney General Letitia James released proposed rules for New York's SAFE for Kids Act, which Gov. Kathy Hochul previously signed into law to curb addictive features on social media for minors.
The law requires social media companies to restrict algorithmically personalized feeds and nighttime notifications for users under the age of 18 unless a parent opts out on behalf of their kid.
Lawmakers argued the feeds are tied to youth anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
The laws outlined by James' office explain which companies must comply with the law and the standards to determine a user's age and parental consent.

Funny how we can just start tossing these alleged victims when it's the state that's on the hook...

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Dozens of survivors of sexual abuse rallied in front of City Hall, demanding immediate passage of a city council bill that would allow them to pursue legal action against people and institutions they say violated them sexually
Arrorney Jerry Block told the group, “A vote on bill 1297 is urgently needed by hundreds of survivors of sexual violence in New York City.”
A state court decision blocks legal action for incidents prior to 2022. That prompted a Bronx Judge to recently toss out 400 sexual abuse lawsuits.
City Council member Brooks Powers Council said, “Survivors deserve more than sympathy they deserve accountability. They deserve a chance to hold abusers and institutions responsible.”
A number of those taking part in the rally claim they were abused during their younger years while in the city-run Youth Detention Center.

Enough is enough.
Once again, an "NGO" produces a report suggesting that young people are harmed by "sexual content", and correctly pointing out that access to a service entails some exposure to said content. Irish media then whinge about how this global NGO is pissed UK laws might not have worldwide implications.
Strangely, there is never any evidence of "sexual harm", let alone probable cause and effect, because it simply doesn't exist
This is clear pandering in political affairs. These NGOs are political mouthpieces for big government.
All such organizations must now be declared political entities and in breach of their charitable obligations. Let's see justice for young people against the nanny state and its "benevolent" proxies.
