I just noticed you have a version in Italian of the article "Press Release: Responding to social media hysteria". But, sorry to say, it is really a pain to read (probably as it is a pain to read my English sometimes

), and has many incorrectly translated words.

Please let me provide a better translation. Let me know where I have to send it (or if I can just post it here).

First off, I would like to be clear on the fact that I appreciate the fact that you provided the translated article (given the subject, it makes a lot of sense), and that my criticism should be taken lightheartedly.
As you are native Italian speaker, you might notice that some sentences come across as if they were machine-translated, lacking depth and nuance. Anyways, I will not focus on the stylistic issues, but just point out the typos and what I could not firstly understand (without reading the Ensligh version). The parts to be addressed are in bold, and my comments in italic.

I commenti fatti da GAG erano i più violenti e vituperativi, facendo riferimenti a passarci per la macina.

I have never heard "vituperativi", better "caustici". Reading the English version, I understand now what "facendo riferimenti a passarci per la macina" means, not an easy translation indeed. But maybe a better alternative would be "arrivando a fare riferimenti a farci passare attraverso trituratrici di legno."

TUTTI dovrebbe avere animosità verso i pedofili.

My personal comment on the article. I'm so sorry to read that you received many hateful comments from Italy. That makes me feel so sad. It is easy to write hateful comments, while appreciation is rarely expressed. I'm sure there are many Italians who find Mu an important point of reference, as I am.

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it, and I'm sure Mr Tommaso will too. I'll forward it to him right away. Also, I'm glad to see another Italian, given that it's rare to see MAPs that aren't from the Anglosphere, Iberian or Ibero-American countries. I think most Italian MAPs are hidden even online, not knowing that there's a whole community waiting to embrace them, since the concept of a MAP hasn't made deep in-roads in mainstream Italian discourse.

Do you mean that they don't even know such places exist? Or that they just don't disclose their nationality for increased privacy?
In any case, I found the various online forums quite late, both thanks (probably) to Google censoring and me not being particularly obsessed with search. But for sure I would not have searched using the term "MAP". I'm sure all my Italian friends would just think about a geographic map if I asked them what they think a MAP is, even if they were pedophiles.

I don't think they even know such places exist, be it this forum, or more established ones like girlchat, boychat, and Visions of Alice. I was able to know of such places, despite being fluent in Italian myself, only via English internet spaces. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed finding Italians in MAP-friendly spaces. I think part of it is how Italians mostly think that the average MAP space is some dark net Onion site where CP and other "immoral" stuff is shared, so perhaps even Italian MAPs might get squeamish in joining such places.

As for the term, I think a literal translation in Italian (i.e., PAM or Persone Attratte ai Minori) sounds better for our brothers in Bel Paese.

I confirm that, first hand. I hope, thanks to growing English literacy and good SEO practices, that new generations will be facilitated in finding places like this one where to openly discuss these topics.

PAM sounds nice indeed! But I'm against the proliferation of acronyms, so I would stick with MAP, as the new generations have no issues whatsoever with English terms.
