Imagine that "Utopia"..

I was at the grocery store today.. and I happen to bump into a friend of a friend. We were just chatting and having some small talk.. and he very casually mentioned how his boyfriend lives up the road.
I didn't even know he was gay, but that's not the point.. what struck me and got me thinking is.. how accepting, casual and normal it is today to discuss those things.
Of course I didn't bat an eye, I didn't judge him or ridicule him.. no one around us scoffed or attacked him. These days, it's looked at basically the same as if he said "my girlfriend lives up the road"
And I started thinking.. imagine Maps were able to discuss it so freely and openly.
I think of what we might say in referencing our relationships...
Like perhaps I'd say "me and my "little girlfriend" saw this amazing movie last night, you've got to see it!"
Or others might say "my "little boyfriend" and I are going out to that new restaurant in town.. you and your wife should join us!"
.. or imagine a man walking in the mall holding his little girlfriends hand and no one cares.. more over, they might find it charming and think "what a cute couple"
Or a man and his little boyfriend are having a wonderful picnic at the park and you see them embracing and sharing an innocent, playful kiss on the lips.. and people think.. "aww how romantic"
Or a woman and her little girlfriend at the beach, putting sun screen on each other.. then playing in the water as her little one jumps into her arms and they share a loving kiss.
It's fun to imagine that world.. and even for a brief moment, close our eyes and feel the joy of being accepted. Being loved, and seen as a compassionate and wonderful soul deserving of freedom, happiness and dignity.
Because that is what we are.. and don't ever forget that!
It's true that dream is not reality.. and it may be a distant vision on the horizon, with more work to do.. but until then, in our hearts we can still...
Imagine that Utopia..
