Hi there,
I don’t know if we are meant to introduce ourselves but I am new and recently joined. I am assuming this is a safe and supportive place and everyone on here has good intentions and the MAP community currently face many issues that the LGBTQ community face many years ago.

Our community does not counsel or encourage offending, but does offer support to those who have offended. We try to maintain it as a safe and nonjudgmental place.

Hello and welcome, the UK is a fine place with many good people in the community from there.

I'd probably phrase it as "there are many good people in the community from the UK, despite it being a dystopian hell hole". But maybe that's just me (and I definitely would extend it to most of the anglosphere).

Roger on the dystopian hell hole.

Well I don't equate the people of any country with the politics of that country.
I've travelled to a lot of countries and one thing I've learned is that from China to the US and everywhere in the middle, people are generally very similar. People working hard to make a better life for themselves and their families, trying to get ahead and hopefully have a little time for themselves.

I'm in the UK, the current government and previous government are near identical in every meaningful way, both surviving within the same dystopian swamp, with no interest in the rights or happiness of citizens. The government sits on the top of the hill, citizens exist to serve them and they had better never get out of line.

I'm in the UK also and have no love for the government (left or right wing) or the whole political system, but the people are mostly alright, the same as other countries.
