- Days before The Abomination Raids the Facility:
○ I stare into the half-empty bottle as my sagging eyes slowly close and open again; my breathing becomes shallow. I wonder how she would think of me if she were to see me in this state. Would she offer comfort or turn away in disgust? I think of how much I wish this path were not mine, realizing that so much has happened while so little has changed. I feel like an abomination. I glance up at the kitchen knives and think bad thoughts.
● "You need my help? Heh, heh."
○ I do not even acknowledge the thing, and simply look back down at the bottle, from which I just take another drink.
● "You ignoring me?"
○ From the ticking of the clock to the sway of the liquor, to this annoying thing within me, and the beating of my heart, it all beckons me to the void. It all becomes... a congesting numbness.
○ Did you love her?
● "What?"
○ When I once told you how you can feel no love, you said, "then you really don't feel me at all." So... did you love her too?
● "Where is all this coming from?"
○ I remember how our mother treated her like a freak and tried to keep us apart, and that really, really pissed me off. Was that your aggression I felt, because you were the one who actually loved her?
● "..."
○ Is that way you're like this? You felt denied by something hateful, therefore you became hate. A reflection...
● "Be careful where you tred."
○ Do I even feel anything? Has it always been you silently guiding me? Now that we are one, I've tried to look within myself, but all I see is you. Whenever I look outside, all I see is me. When we look as one, we become whole. You can't manifest because you are not physical anymore than I can feel because I have no spirit. When I tried to end my life all those years ago, I felt myself slip away moments before commitment, then something overtook me and reanimated my body. Was that also you?
● "..."
○ Well? Speak thing.
● "I... had hoped to find her again someday, and you got in the way, so I took over and stopped you, but looking back, I should've just spared us both the trouble."
○ She was gone.
● "No, she was taken away! By, by, by those fuckers!"
○ She just moved away.
● "And?! You were gonna kill yourself over it."
○ My circumstances wasn't like most kids. I was just exceptionally alone.
● "And whose fault was that?"
○ Mine.
● "No, you stupid fuck! It was them! Remember how you let them beat you, degrade you, treat you like nothing!"
○ I should've been stronger.
● "You were already strong, otherwise you wouldn't be here now."
○ I thought I'm only here because of you.
● "Tsk. You've had your moments and some luck."
○ mmm...
● "Oh, will you cut it with the woe is me shit. It's infuriating."
○ I don't... want to die. I just want to be able to truly feel the way others can. I want... to no longer be afraid for simply being alive as I am, in a place like this.
● "sigh..."
○ I continue to drink and drink and drink some more... and then my head slumps down, and I drift away as the thing takes control once more.
Thing: Goddamn. Free again, and I can't even feel good about it, literally... oh jesus.
I leave the bathroom feeling relieved with a newfound respect for the dumbfuck's ability to handle his liquor. I return to the dining table only to freeze in my tracks as someone, or a... something sits in an eerily polite manner at the table across from where I sat.
Thing: ...What the ever loving fuck are you?!
[(Hello creature. Please, come and sit.)]
Thing: Oh god no, not another cosmic fuck.
[(We only wish to talk)]
Thing: Yeah, that's what the last one said before nearly melting my brain.
[(We are nothing like him, for we are harmonious. You may call us... Observer.)]
Thing: Nah, I'm good. You creep me out, now fuck off and go snort stars or whatever is you weird fuckers get up to.
Observer: [(We know of your fate, or rather the suggestion the conduit offered. We came to make our own. We promise to be brief.)]
Thing: I'll pass.
- Observer tilted its head
Thing: The hell was that voice?
Observer: [(Please sit, and we will share our knowledge with you.)]
- And so The Abomination sat down to hear Observer's suggestion.
Thing: Is that you doing that?
Observer: [(It is an intrusion that will be dealt with soon. For now, we must discuss why you believe destroying The Cycle will save you.)]
Thing: Uh, I honestly don't care about all that. This dumbfuck agreed to it, not me. All I want is to make the evil fucks in this world regret taking away my happiness.
Observer: [(Would such an accomplishment truly make you happy?)]
Thing: No, but it's not about what I want anymore, it's about what's fair.
Observer: [(And what of the people you've hurt? Do you not think they too deserve fairness?)]
Thung: They chose to get in my way. That's on them.
Observer: [(I see. So, you believe there must be balance?)]
Thing: Wouldn't really say it like that, but sure.
Observer: [(Join us then, and we can make your dream a reality.)]
Thing: Wait, really?! How the fuck would you do that?
Observer: [(Simply do as we do...)]
- The Observer's face then begins to project various images of past events leading to The Abomination's creation.
- The Abomination's pupils dilate and it enters a trance as the Observer's projections reflect off its eyes.
Observer: [(AS WE UNRAVEL/CONGREGATE, WE TAKE NEW SHAPES, NEW IDENTITIES. WE ARE THE CARETAKERS OF THE MYCELIUM THAT INVIGORATE US ALL. WE SING AND DINE TO OUR HEARTS CONTENT, FOR OUR SONG IS BEAUTIFUL. JOIN US, AND YOU WILL BECOME A BEAUTY THAT ALL THE HEAVENS WILL ENVY.)]
- One by one, The Observer absorbs each projection as tiny specks amongst its body resembling stars glow brightly.
- Unbeknownst to The Abomination, it is being fed upon. Each stolen memory taking away its rich essence until it becomes an empty husk and dies.
- Amongst the flashing memories, her face appears and freezes in place.
Observer: [(What is this? What are you do-
Thing: 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘴, Bailey?
- The Observer tries to continue it's meal, but the projection of The Abomination's long lost friend will not budge.
- It begins to cry, and its heart fills with a terrible rage.
Thing: It's... not... fair. I'm so... rrrRRAAAAHHH!
- The Abomination breaks the trance and sees through the deception. It has been fooled and cheated for the last time.
Thing: You're goddamn right I have.
Observer: [(You wished to kill us, we were mer—
- Before Observer could finish, The Abomination shot up from its seat and threw the table across the room and clutched Observer's throat.
- A demonic roar erupts from The Abomination as it proceeds to smash Observer's skull with a barrage of punches, striking it again and again, until it dies.
Thing: RRRRRAAAAHHHHH!
- A white, glowing liquid splatters across the room with each punch, until its aromatic scent pauses the creature's fury.
- It inhaled the sweet aroma of the substance dripping from its hand and tasted what it would soon realize to be the most delicious thing it had ever experienced.
- And it wanted more.
- It threw the corpse to the ground and sat atop it, then proceeded to jam its thumbs into the skull and tear it open. Bending down, it began to devour the contents inside, like a predator feasting on a fresh kill.
Thing: SO... GOOOOOD! SO... WONNNDERFUL!
- After The Abomination had its fill, it soon realized it had acquired a tiny portion of The Observer's memories, including the location of 'the presence'.
Thing: Oh, so there you are, you Cosmic Fuck.
- With it's blood lust unsatiated, it went hunting for its new victim, all the while fixating on the restored memory of his lost friend's face.
Thing: I will end them. I am not their tool, and now... I have the upperhand.
Thing: READY OR NOT FUCKERS, CAUSE HERE I COME! AHA, HA, HA, HA, HA!
