A lot of maps like loli but do you think it's a good thing or should it be banned

I believe fictional sexual material should be fully legalized.

Depending on where you are, the material you mention may still be legal, but more countries are starting to write it off as P.I.M. (Prohibited Images of Minors) and I strongly believe it's not the right "solution", if you would even call it one at all.

What is Loli?

Two issues -

1. First, it should be legalized, with all other fictional content.

2. While there is the possibility of convincing some lolicons they are MAPs, Lolicon and other child erotica of ambiguous legal status has a divisive effect on the community. This is one reason why Yesmap started an SFW Mastodon instance. Ideally, you should maintain an SFW anchor account for maintaining your contacts outside of the erotica bubble. It should be noted that independently managed instances sharing Lolicon are constantly targeted for censorship because of a single flaw in the fediverse protocol. A considerable amount of energy has been devoted to rebuilding these wooden huts, when it could have been directed towards growing the community in other ways.

Sadly, despite the obvious failure of federated fictomap online spaces, I still see some individuals praising the sharing of child erotica on the clear web. It has been worse from a legal perspective (there is no knowledge of the law enforcement operations in the 2000s), and will likely get worse. The targets of the next major operation will be almost random.

I think it can be a great thing for some MAPS. However, laws appear to be getting increasingly strict when it comes to loli and that is not so good. It will only make criminals out of more people.

Why would you ban it, because you think it increases the likelihood of abusing children? I mostly hear that perspective from non-MAPs.

I have some strong opinions on this topic, not only because I believe that all fiction should be legal, as Jim Burton rightly pointed out, but also because...

- At age 12 and later, lolicon was the first way I engaged with my sexuality as a MAP and GL. It was of crucial importance in this aspect of my self-discovery. It fueled my sexual imagination and made me feel less isolated through the knowledge that others had fantasies that were so very similar to my own. It had such a profound positive effect on my life that I consider some lolicon works to be among my all-time favourite pieces of art.

- Perhaps most importantly, when I reached my peak libido in my mid-teens, having easy access to pornography I truly enjoyed (i.e. which resonated with my deepest feelings and desires) had a powerful calming effect on my sexual frustration, which otherwise could have pushed me towards not only illegal, but immoral actions by my own standards. In fact, when I once found myself at ~15 at the family cottage for a week without access to lolicon but around a 7-year-old distant cousin whom I found maddeningly desirable, I ended up experiencing genuinely predatory sexual urges for the first and only time.

- A comparatively minor point, but later, sharing lolicon with adult girlfriends was an excellent way to ascertain acceptance of my sexuality and gauge sexual compatibility. My one long-term girlfriend, an autopedophile, loved nearly exactly what I loved in that respect.

I agree with everyone here lol. If it's fiction it should be legal. No thought crimes.

In fact, anything written, drawn, or fake in any way should be legal regardless of how "bad" it is. If someone wants to write a "disgusting" and "extreme" erotic story coupled with highly realistic drawings...well that should still be legal.

I don't believe this as a MAP. I believe this simply as a matter of free speech.

Beyond that, lolicon servers a bulwark for some MAPs who would pursue real life porn. I know this from discussions with people. Many MAPs are fine with fantasies, captions, stories, RP, and loli hentai. Removing that removes a completely safe way for MAPs to be satisified.

Absolutely. Not only does my own personal experience confirm that fact, even academic research conducted on MAPs has highlighted the importance of erotic fiction in serving as a safe sexual outlet, e.g. Carin Marie Freimond (2009), Allyn Walker (2022).

I don't even know what loli is exactly so it's probably NOT good.
