New Texas "obscenity" bill covers anime and manga depictions of children

Yet another example of the US moral panic regarding non-traditional forms of sexuality. The main rationale behind the bill is to prohibit AI-generated PIM (which should, of course, very much be legal anyway), but the wording specifically includes "cartoon or animation" representations:

Another ridiculous bill introduced at roughly the same time targets the furry subculture in Texas schools (clearly a serious problem! ):

Under the Forbidden Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education, or FURRIES Act, students would be forbidden from barking, hissing, meowing and wearing leashes, fur or tails at school. They would also not be permitted to use litter boxes or use licking as a means of grooming.
Just how much more insane can this get?
