I have noticed that in the world of pedophilia clowns are a lot. What is the symbolism behind clowns?

Nothing, I have never seen this symbolism. The only thing a can think of is Hisoka from Hunter Hunter, who is a male boy lover attracted to preteens and teenagers, but thats it

I think there might have been a brief trend of MAPs on Twitter adopting it, if you look back at the Ominzoa-Shoe0nHead drama.

Then there was the serial killer/rapist, John Wayne Gacy, who also performed as a clown.

Like Electra, my comedy now hastens to you,
It waits and searches: are there any understanding spectators here?
It will know at once — if only it can find — its dear brother's curls.
See how decorous its manners are, behold for yourselves:
No firm piece of leather is hung out in front,
Long, thick, with a red tip — for the amusement
of the boys.

— Aristophanes
