I'm sure many here could tell you of their past relationships, but none of it will give an accurate measure of what your future relationships will look like. It's one of those things where you just have to experience it for yourself.

If you're just aching to feel that companionship, my advice to you is to just put yourself out there and start meeting new people. Go to local gatherings like community events, the gym, a party, the bar. Whatever's relevant to your interests. The vast majority of people will be incompatible, so don't try to force anything. But you'll never succeed unless you try.
