Hello everyone.
I'm terrible at introductions and frankly don't plan to share much about myself. *Haha.* That said, I've browsed through several forum posts here and found most quite fascinating - enough to pique my interest.

I wouldn't identify as a MAP, as I lack genuine sexual attraction to minors. Yet I feel indifferent toward adults, in their case even aesthetically. At least some adolescents remain visually cute. This detachment likely stems from being over-saturated with entertainment: manga, stories, etc. which fulfills my needs well enough that real people and relationships hold little appeal. The sole common ground might be my occasional interest in European coming-of-age films, but that's about it.

Though I don't identify with this group, I still consider myself an ally, both because the content I enjoy might face censorship next, and because as a liberal, I oppose stigmatizing any sexual preference, fantasy, or kink. Individuals should retain the right to create and enjoy any legal material - criminality should only be determined by demonstrable harm to a specific person: The AI doesn't harm anyone, plastic dolls regardless of the age represented don't harm anyone, etc.

I might be an unconventional ally. I usually don't like LGBTQ+ rhetoric, and after reading some presentations, seeing the flag... but I'm not the type to create conflict. I’ll likely follow along as a reader rather than an active participant in the forum discussions.

Your exclusion from the LGBTQ+ community ironically makes me empathize more strongly. This situation demonstrates how your group may need support more than any other; rejected by nearly all movements who use opposition to you to bolster their own credibility.

At least, these are more or less my ideas.

This is central to my moral philosophy, too.

Welcome.

We need more allies.

Do you have any suggestions as to how we might encourage more people to be like you? Or is it just your own disposition?

I was fortunate enough to go through puberty with unconventional sexual interests, which led me to research and very early on discover the existence of chronophilias and many other things, much of which disgusted me. But I knew that even my interests would disgust someone else, so I assume that purely for survival instinct I learned that just because I don't like something doesn't mean I have to wipe it off the face of the earth.

But I was already a moral and cultural relativist at that time, the latter due to my father's influence. So I believe I received the right education to have this approach on these matters. I also had friction with religious views, I poorly tolerated moralism and consequently I'm allergic to all criticisms that leverage morality.

There's probably a personality factor, but I believe the desire for consistency is shared. I think a good argument, one that starts from certain foundations and then develops coherently, is effective. Perhaps the problem is simply preparing the right foundations or, at least, I'm drawn to following coherent reasoning, even if it leads to conclusions I don't like.

I believe there are many people who would express a favorable position for MAPs but don't speak out of survival instinct. I've seen moderately famous YouTubers (relative to where I am) purse their lips in an embarrassed smile with a "I don't see anything wrong with it" when topics of this nature came up, but without having the courage to express it through a proper argument.

Perhaps we just need to talk about it, talk about it and talk about it. Until even those who see nothing wrong with it are pushed to talk about it. Or doing this just leads to friction and more laws that go against MAPs and the entertainment associated with them.

I don't think I'm good with suggestions.
