I tried to do a petition on Change.org to destigmastise individuals who have attractions towards minors but I got an email saying it violates community guidelines.
but I don’t know if the decisions were based on change.org’s lack of awareness about MAPs. I made it very clear that Many MAP communities are against abuse, rape and violence and tried to share information linked to sources like MU, B4uact etc. Luckily I have 5 months to appeal.

This is the problem that even anti-c MAP stuff is blocked. I hope you win your appeal.

I got to know about the existence of that website not long ago, and mused over using it for the same scope. I was expecting to get the same answer you got, but this is no excuse not to try. Kudos to you because you did.

But yeah... this looks like yet another catch-22 situation...

It's a shame but I'm not shocked, there's a real fear of any kind of discourse on the subject.

I find it encouraging in a way because when there's fear of discourse it often means there's fear of the truths that discourse would surface and the impact such truths would have on society. So all this tells me is that our message has enough power to fear it, and so it's more important than ever to get that message out.

Why are you appealing?
I believe the people who determined this petition violates the community guidelines have a lack of understanding and awareness about individuals who are attractions towards minors and have decided to be prejudice and hostile towards the MAP community without taking the time to get to know them and the community. It seems like Change.org are very quick to judge and haven't taken the time to actually read the petition.
I struggle to understand how the petition titled 'Destigmatise. Minor Attracted People (MAPs) is incompatible with change.org policies on violence. The petition does NOT in any way support or tolerate violence or abusive acts and it has been made clear in the petitions content, so l don't understand the issue.
The main purpose of the petition is to clear a misunderstanding about a group of people who are wrongly portrayed as evil, dangerous people. The petition aims to recognise that just because someone is attracted to minors does NOT mean they have bad intentions to hurt them. There is a huge difference between being attracted to someone and actually abusing them.
There is a lot of people who are spreading misinformation and false information about the MAP community and some of them have even made petitions on change.org to promote hate and hostility and ignorance towards them yet their petitions haven’t been taken down. It feels like change.org are biased and are hostile towards a community they know nothing about and it is like no one is allowed to share the truth.
If people took the time to know and understand the MAP community, you would realise they have good intentions and wouldn’t harm anyone and most of the MAP communities are against violence, abuse and rape etc.
A lot of people making false information about the MAP community and are portraying them in a negative way. But the petition is trying to explain the truth and clear a misunderstanding.

Remind them that at one time in the past blacks were legally considered property and even after slavery was abolished they were considered second-class citizens and criminals. Women did not have equal rights in work, education, finance and politics spheres. Homosexuals were considered mentally ill, persecuted by law and subjected to forced "treatment". All of this was unfair, but it was legal at the national and global levels.

In addition, despite the criminal cases involving blacks, they are NOT considered criminals on the basis of race. Despite the cases of abuse/rape against women, men are NOT considered rapists on the basis of sex. Despite the cases of terrorism involving citizens of Islamic countries, Islamic people are NOT considered terrorists based on their nationality and religion. All people have equal rights regardless of race, nationality, sex, gender and sexuality. Minor attraction is also an innate sexuality, just like homosexuality.
