Seeing young people as people

When I think of maps, I think of people with one crucial difference to none maps and that is that maps see young people as people. With that one difference, it changes everything including enabling attraction, but attraction is a byproduct. If maps didn't see young people as people then I don't think that attraction would be there.
I'm not exclusively attracted to young people and yet I consider myself a pedophile because for me I experience the same feelings and reactions towards young people that I do towards adults.
Throughout the day, the week, the year I will encounter many adults and I am not a danger to them. Most I will never think of in a sexual way, there's no attraction or chemistry, they are just work colleagues or friends or family or neighbouts, people I know and interact with. I may from time to time see a woman and think she is very pretty or attractive and there have been times I've got to know a woman and felt an attraction, even a strong attraction. Usually it's nothing more, she might be married or a colleague or some other reason it can't be more than an attraction.
It's the same with young people. Most young people I encounter I will never think of in a sexual way, there's no attraction or chemistry, they are just relatives or friends daughters or neighbours or friends of my own daughters, just people. They can annoy me as much as an adult can. I respect them though the same as I respect adults, because they are full people. If they want to tell me something then I will listen and offer advice if I can. If I see someone who's upset I will try to cheer them up, I will encourage them and tell them they can achieve this or that, adults and young people alike. And yes there are times I will see a young person and think she's really pretty or attractive or I might feel an attraction to a young person I've got to know but just like the work colleague or married woman I know it can't be anything more than that.
When I was a younger guy in my 20s I had a higher sex drive and yes I'd see young people and people my own age attractive more frequently, that's hormones but even then I knew the lines not to cross with adults and children. Age reduces sex drive and today I have much less of a sexual attraction but the respect remains and the admiration and sometimes the sexual attraction is there but not in the same way.
I think that's what people don't understand about maps, that maps are not driven by sexual desire but are wired to see young people as people, and non maps are simply incapable of doing that. It would be like asking an African slave owner back in those days to see their slaves as equals or in periods where women were seen as less than men to consider women as equals, or like asking me now to consider a chimp or a dog as an equal. It simply can't be conceived of and so something else has to be substituted in to make sense of it, and that something is sexual perversion. This person is talking to a young people, listening, advising, seeming to care, but that's a young people and so this person can't really care or respect her, so he must be doing it for a sexual return. I don't blame non-maps, it's just a limitation brought about by history and context.
But I think non-maps could learn to respect young people and to see young people as people just like people learned to see African people and women as people and that make their lives and everyone's lives better. And notice I used the term young person rather than child or kid because to me, a child/kid is a young person.
