Do you think being a pedophile is just a normal sexuality or a mental illness?

It depends on what you mean by "normal". I don't think homosexuality is "normal" in the sense of "common". But if you mean "natural", then yeah, I think minor-attraction is natural. Or at least it's as natural as homosexuality and bisexuality.

I don't see it as an illness. But even illness, in many ways is socially defined.

Is being left-handed "normal" or an "illness"? The brain functions a little differently for left-handed people. Society, to a degree, determines the answer.

My paedosexuality is a fundamental part of what I am, so it is “normal” to me, and has been ever since my early teen years. I celebrate it as best I can. However as a heretic, discrimination meted out courtesy of the law and thus society wherever I go, severely limits the extent of that celebration. Consequently I have available to me an insignificant fraction of the human rights available to the average adult-attracted adult.

The claim that paedosexuality is a mental illness, is a device used by psychologists and psychiatrists plus their pharmaceutical handlers, to sow doubt and fear into the general population, and more generally profit from the “treatment” of paedosexuals that results. The legal profession and law enforcement also profit from this device: increased dangers to society demand increased powers to adequately police, prosecute and imprison. The exact same device was used in the case of homosexuals over half a century ago.

I can understand how a minor attracted person might have been made to feel sufficiently guilty by third parties to admit to feeling their paedosexuality is not “normal”, and thus admit to suffering from a mental disorder, just as homosexuals agreed to undergo chemical castration to cure them of their “abnormal” sexuality. Such acquiescence did not win gays their human rights. Activism and protest however, did. We need to take a leaf out of their book, although be warned, we can expect zero collaboration nor support from them, now that they have won their hard-earned respectability.

Look at the huge diversity of organisms in nature. There are so many strange creatures out there, and yet humans are so narcissistic and arrogant that they don't notice it.

When people did not understand something, they attributed it to the manifestation of divine will or demons. Any incomprehensible difference was stigmatized. Left-handedness, red hair, green eyes, skin color, etc. With the advent of modern sciences, some of the prejudices disappeared, but but those that remained unclear began to be considered illness or disorder.

If the age of consent in the US was 7 to 12 years old before 1885, does that mean the entire population of the US had a mental illness/disorder? And then that they all suddenly got cured ? No.

Chronophilia is simply one of natual variants on the spectrum of sexual preferences.

It is true we have not been met with any amount of acceptance form the LGBT community as of late. This happened after LGBT community decided to go mainstream. However, as one who identifies as homosexual, I can tell you that there are still many in the LGBT community who are either accepting or are MAPS themselves. I would not throw away hope on this. If we can work for more acceptance in general society, then perhaps the LGBT community will follow.

Yes, is normal.

Did you've forgot how it was when you was a child? When I had under 10 years old, I saw an erotic magazine with naked women, and I touched with my thing the picture to feel that hairy thing. I just wanted to feel the real thing but it was just an image. So believe me if I could I would make s*x at that age . So I say it again, yes it is normal. Minors are interested about s*x and they would make s*x if they've could. If the age of child is too little, then will have no idea what's all about, would mean nothing for the child if is not harmed. Of course it you force a kid to eat, drink, sleep is also abuse so anything can be abuse, but that's the idea, adults have the responsibility to assure a child is not harmed in any circumstances. So even if you give a good food to a child, it can make him sick. What you do in that case? You ban the food entirely?

What the hell is "normal"? It is just a word people throw around to distance themselves from others who they consider to be "abnormal".

It depends what you mean by "p(a)edophile". I don't think it's "normal" to fuck kids but I think that finding them attractive, even finding that they get you sexually aroused, is a common life-experience that could not be classed as dysfunctional.

DSM-V supports my point here. It doesn't define paedophilia as a disorder unless it causes the subject undue distress or causes them to behave illegally.

I've seen nothing to make me believe that being a map is abnormal.
With the human species there are great diversity of sexualities including a significant portion with map tendencies. You can't say that pedophilia is a big issue due to there being so many and then at the same time say it's not normal because normal suggests to me that something is widely common.

You could argue if it's good or bad, but I see it as perfectly normal.

I am content and comfortable with myself that being a MAP is a normal and natural orientation in all respects. I did not learn to be a MAP, it came instinctively to me and I am happy and proud with that.
